We have seen so much suffering in the world recently. So much that it is almost paralyzing for those watching. Evil comes in many forms as we are seeing in the middle east. The purest form of unadulterated evil that is running rampant there. But what about evil that is forming and fomenting here in this country. We could site many forms it takes in this country from the entertainers and their satanic forms of music and videos to the recent events with football players. And the open worshiping of other god’s and satan also in this country. There are so many instances of parents killing their children, children killing their parents and evil raising it’s head allowing it to infiltrate the very existence of our religious institutions.
This evil has permeated our very existence. Americans are suffering like never before. The numbers that the liberals site for improving unemployment is at the least colored and tainted. People are out of work with no hope to find work, and starving right under our noses. Some of this I have witnessed first hand recently and is heartbreaking. Why in the middle of all this suffering and evil do we turn from God? Why don’t we run full speed ahead to Him instead of cursing Him?
Suffering: pain that is caused by injury, illness, loss, etc. : physical, mental, or emotional pain. What does the Bible say about Suffering? We forget that Jesus and the Apostles warned us of the suffering to come. Most of which is because we chose to follow Christ. Some of the sufferings come from our choices in life, our choices to follow evil and the world instead of turning to God. Some of the suffering comes from our choices in leaders. Here is what Jesus taught:
“You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.”
“Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.”
“But you will be betrayed even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death, and you will be hated by all because of My name. ”
“strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying, “Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.” For more click here.
When you look at the book of Job, you see that Job’s sufferings did not go unnoticed by God, neither did He cause them. When Job refused to curse God, God gave him back everything he lost 10 fold. And then in 2 Chronicles God say’s this about our suffering caused by our sin:
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
God has shown us the love he has for His children right from the very start in the Garden of Eden when man was given free will to do as he saw fit and we know how that went. Today the same blessing and curses are in the earth by the choices we make and God clearly states them in scripture in Deuteronomy Chapter 28.
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all His commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.
We can look to God for the only help that truly does cause our life to work out, or we can do as they did way back in the Garden and choose the tree of good and evil and not the tree of life!
We need to remember God chooses us in the furnace of affliction and many of us know what this means when we try our way most of our life and get to the point and look up and say I cannot do this anymore in my own strength, but we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us! God does chasten his children and it is out f love he does this. (Hebrews 12:5-7).
This is clear that our sufferings are caused by our sin and refusal to turn to God. So why do so many curse God and even question His existence? Why do so many say there is no God? Why do so many blame God for all their sufferings and evil in the world. This does not come from God, and believe it or not the world is being judged right now on how they handle these sufferings and demonic entities causing havoc. It’s time to turn to God. I did recently in trials I suffered and found blessings in suffering and uncertainty so can you. I know the sufferings are unbearable for many, I know how hard it is, but now is the time we need to put all our Faith in the Lord, and turn to Him. Pray for those facing persecution, pray for those suffering around the world. Pray for all to turn to God. Prepare for our Lord’s return and focus on the hope that He will bring. As He taught us to pray:
