When HE+ had received the vinegar
HE+ cried with a LOUD VOICE,
” FATHER, IT IS FINISHED. INTO YOUR HANDS I+ COMMIT MY SPIRIT.”
Having said this HE+ bowed HIS+ Head and released HIS Spirit and Descended into the Heart of the Earth, leaving HIS+ tired Body on the Cross.
And the Earth SHOOK
and the rocks were sheared
and the Veil of the Temple
was torn in TWO…
from TOP TO BOTTOM !
We follow the original timeline of The LORD+ being Crucified on the Wednesday at the morning Sacrifice at 9:00 AM, remaining there until 3:00 PM the hour of The Evening Sacrifice, releasing HIS+ Spirit into HIS+ FATHER’S keeping at that hour and descending into the heart of the earth.
HE+ came out of the Tomb a full three days and three nights later , at 3:00 PM Saturday evening, making three full days and three full nights in the heart of the earth.
HE+ was First SEEN by HIS+ Disciples very early the first day of the week. The confusion has come for many because there were TWO Sabbaths that week: a High Holy Day Sabbath and the regular Saturday Sabbath.
Where did JESUS go during the Three days
and Three nights?
The Scripture states plainly from our LORD’S own lips that HE+ would be Three Days and Three Nights in The Heart of the Earth, the Realm of the departed human soul and spirit, called in the Hebrew sheol.
One thing we DO know is where JESUS our LORD+ went when HE+ left the CROSS and HIS Crucified Body there because HE+ said so HIMSELF+.
Also… we can KNOW that HE+ went there as a Victor and a Conqueror! HE+ did not go there as some cults, some groups, and yes, witches’ covens, try to tell us, to be tortured by satan.
ABSOLUTELY NOT!
On HIS+ CROSS HE+ Broke satan’s back and broke his head as well ! JESUS said, “IT IS FINISHED!” HE+ went into “sheol” in HIS+ FATHER’S STRENGTH, to the TERROR and HORROR of the Unclean rebel spirits. ( Genesis 3:15 )
What did HE+ do during the three days and nights?
…. WHATEVER HE+ WANTED TO DO !
HE+ was CHRISTUS VICTOR!
CHRIST the VICTOR !
Taking down the gates of Hell from the area called in Scriptures, Abraham’s Bosom … only the dead could enter the realm of the departed human soul and spirit, but THIS ONE TIME… the Crucified , YET LIVING SECOND ADAM+ entered into it!

This is part of what our Precious LORD+ was doing in the Three Days and Nights in the Heart of the earth!
HE+ also took with HIM+ those Righteous dead ones from the area of Abraham’s Bosom, and brought them with HIM+ after HIS+ Resurrection, and sent them into Jerusalem to appear unto many there.
Ancient writings state that what they said to many in Jerusalem was that: “YESHUA of Nazareth who was Crucified and rejected by the religious leaders, IS THE MESSIAH! We are only her for a very short time to tell you this. We must leave and go with HIM where HE+ carries us.
JESUS then assembled these dead ones to HIMSELF+ and ascended on HIGH, taking and leading the formerly captive ones away from the earth completely, and giving gifts unto the children of Adam who had died and waited in sheol/hades for HIS+ appearing. ( Ephesians 4:8 )
Our LORD+ then CAME OUT OF THE TOMB ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK, TOTALLY ALIVE AND TOTALLY GLORIFIED!! BODY, SOUL, AND SPIRIT!

I think I mis-spoke concerning the “Roman calendar” that the Orthodox Church of the East goes by. They still go by the old Julian calendar, which of course was Roman, but would have been the calendar in effect when our LORD+ walked on the earth.
I did a bit of research on the Jewish calendar for this year, and it appears that due to how they have decided to count their time, they have thrown even their own Feast days off by a full month!! It seems that man can always mess things up in a big way!
Just thought I would correct that. Peace to you.

Yes brother thank you for sharing this. I have often marveled at the fact that Jesus brought many back with him. He conquered death just as you laid out. I agree and restate He was not tortured by Satan. There are even Christian evangelists that teach this. So sad. Thank you Lord!

This post tells so plainly of what our Lord truly did for us, and no one but the Son of God could have accomplished all He did. This teaching also proves to those who do not believe there is a hell that there is and our Lord conquered the power of death and hell Praise God!!!!! Great article.God Bless You and yours.

Thank you for your comment. We do not follow RCC traditions but rather the faith and practice of the Ancient PRE-NICENE Church. The Ancient Church all acknowledged the PASSOVER WEEK of the PASSION of our LORD. Most of the churches connected to the Ancient Church Calendar still do celebrate PASSOVER / PASSION Week.
This year, for some reason, the PASSOVER / RESURRECTION SEASON dates do not coincide with the Jewish Calendar , which we would PREFER to adhere to because HIS+ Crucifixion was OBVIOUSLY and DEFINITELY connected to the PASSOVER.
But, we remember that these DAYS are really COMMEMORATIVE. That is, unlike birthdays and anniversaries, we likely do NOT celebrate them on the actual occurrence of the event.
We do not like to cause yet another division in the Christian church, so we join with other Christians to celebrate GOOD FRIDAY in MEMORY of Our LORD’S Crucifixion. There is NO WAY “3 days and 3 nights” can be completed from Friday to Sunday morning.
I have added a few paragraphs explaining why some of the confusion about dates exists. It is too bad that the Western church calendar is not more in line with the Apostles’ teachings… and also the Early Church writers before Nicene. They followed the Apostles closely.

Also… there WAS NO RCC church prior to the Nicene Council. There WAS simply A Church at Rome, as our Scriptures plainly show, but it took centuries for it to become what we NOW know as the RCC.

As a long time Bible teacher, I can tell you the reason that “Easter” does not coincide with Passover this year. It is because we are still under Rome, and their calendar. The date of Easter was determined to fall on the first Sunday following the vernal equinox, by early church leaders, who wanted to separate Jesus Christ from the Jews. The dates are actually quite important, as He completely fulfilled the Spring feasts outlined in Leviticus 23 when He came the first time. And because of this – we can expect Him to fulfill the fall feasts in the same precise manner when He comes the second time.
It has long been my suspicion that some of the early Roman church leaders, were Jewish priests who did not want to give up the power and affluence of the priesthood. The Roman empire never really disappeared. It remade itself, and is now the basis for all the so-called “holidays” that we observe. I also attend “Easter” services at my church. My pastor and elders are in complete understanding of this issue, but look on this event as an opportunity to give the true Gospel to many lost souls who only attend church on this one day of the year.
The excellent Nicene creed, was accomplished to thwart Arianism. But this was also the time that the church and state “wed,” during the age of Constantine. This era of church history is known as the “Pergamos” church from Revelation. Christ’s parting Words to this church included a warning to repent of the doctrine of Balaamism (worldliness) and the doctrine of the Nicolaitans (clergy ruling over the laity.) In this sense, Satan changed his tactics from persecution, to infiltration.

This also gave birth to the dark ages. Any time we go outside the Bible – we end up in a bad place. Marrying the pagan, spring fertility rites and dates to our Lord Jesus Christ is Roman in its entirety.

Peace to you. I am in basic agreement with you. There was an ancient Christian Church, pree-Nicene , that was totally separate from Rome. The faith and practice of the pure Church was determined by the Apostles of the LAMB+. not Rome. Due to Rome being a LARGE Church and WEALTHY , it began to feel that it could enforce its will and thoughts on all of the other autonomous Churches on earth. Not a good thing ! The other overseers ( modern word, bishops) told Rome very straightly that it was wrong.
The Nicene council did include the emperor in its meeting. However, it was attended by presiding Elders who had missing eyes, limbs, and bore signs in their bodies of the Roman government’s mistreatment of them when they REFUSED to renounce CHRIST and bow to Rome. They may have considered it a blessing from The LORD+ to have the horrible persecution stopped. I would .
As for Holy Week, passion week, or whatever it may be called, this would be ‘The Feast of Unleavened Bread” from the Jewish Feast Days.
The Ancient , Pre-Nicene Church did mark out this Passover/ resurrection time as VERY SPECIAL. Some had daily Communion to mark this week. Of course there was NO universal bishop, a later lie, and of course NO easter egg hunts!! : ) The Eastern Orthodox Churches mark this time also, although they do not use the Roman calendar.
So, this is to say that we are not RCC in any way, nor are we Protestant, as that also has its own set of errors. Everything the Apostles said and taught stands. Everything the MESSIAH taught and commanded stands. Not adding to nor taking away from these Truths in any way. How the Pre-Nicene Churches walked out the Gospel is very enlightening, since the earliest of them were taught by the Apostles and by elders who were taught and discipled by the Apostles themselves.
