Why Jerusalem renters are wary of the Messiah’s arrival

dreamstime_xl_10816729

My Comment:  Spoof?  I don’t know, but I do know that there is increased talk in Jerusalem about the Jewish Messiah.  I do know that they are not the only ones that think the return of the Messiah is imminent.  However one thing this shows is that they do not understand what the return of the Messiah means.  There will be no worries about where to live, we as Christians know what to expect.  Don’t we?  Yes we do.  Revelation 21 describes this perfectly.  The New Jerusalem, and Christs reign.  And I think I can guarantee that there will be no need for clauses for the Messiah’s return in rental agreements.

Many Jerusalem residents believe not only that the Messiah will return, but that his arrival is imminent – so imminent they have taken legal precautions to ensure they can return to Jerusalem immediately upon his return.

In apartment contracts around the city, there are clauses stipulating what will happen to the apartment if or when the Jewish Messiah, or mashiach, comes. The owners, generally religious Jews living abroad, are concerned that he will arrive, build a third temple, and turn Israel into paradise – and they will be stuck waiting for their apartment tenants’ contracts to run out before they can move back.

  1. If I don’t lose my head to a guillotine or a scimitar, I will be ‘raptured’ and culled in a FEMA camp. ‘With the skin of my teeth’ [Job 19:20], the King of kings will retrieve my head and reward me the crown of life [Rev. 2:10]. New Jerusalem will be an eternal perusal of all the portals of Abba Father’s Mansions in His Home.

  2. Catherine……..What a great question! We are told there will be many false teachers before Christ returns and the teaching you are asking of sounds like it! Heaven and hell are both created for a reason….Heaven we all know are for those who lived a just life and repented of their sin and walked closely with their Saviour and hell on the other hand are for those who had no fear of God as though he would not judge right from wrong. All through scripture we can read that God hopes that none shall perish, but that they repent. The people who are saying God would never cast anyone in hell are the same people teaching ONLY God is love and not that WE ARE TO FEAR GOD AND HAVE A REVERENCE FOR HIM! It is out of Love he created us to follow him and not turn to stay in our sin for then there would be no reason for Christ to of died on the cross. Catherine keep your eyes on the Lord and just know he loves those who love him as you do.God Bless You.

      • I’ve been wondering about something. Maybe you can explain it. People seem to think that God-orJesus-created Hell because He doesn’t love them. Or a loving God wouldn’t send them there. I hear and see it all the time. That God is some kind of Santa Claus or grandpa who loves them and wouldn’t think of judging them. As if He were maid to order. They overlook the fact that Christ is Lord and judge. The blessings but not the Lamb’s book. Heaven but not the lake of fire. How many times have I heard “That’s not my God!” “I could never love a God like that!” And yet these folks claim to be saved? Surrendering to the Lord will not save you. When was the last time you heard the word repent? Nobody wants to read the book of Revelation. Can you explain it? A movie showed a man walking to the front of a church and doing something as a token of surrendering to Christ. Nice, but no repentance no salvation. No Gospel preached. And yet the stuff is going into our churches? What’s going on here?

      • Very good question. It sounds like a lot of new age teachings. It is true that God did not create Hell for man, he created it for the devil and his angels. And while he is patient with us not wanting any to perish, he gives us a choice, eternal damnation with satan or eternal life with Christ. Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. Jesus spoke about Hell almost as much as he spoke about anything else. Here are some references, but none as clear as this: Mathew 10:28 Jesus said ‘Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in Hell.’ Mark 9:43-48, Matthew 5:22, Matthew 7:13-14, Matthew 8:12, Matthew 10:28, Matthew 13:50, Matthew 25:46, John 10:28, Revelation 20:10, Revelation 20:15, Revelation 21:8. 2Peter 2:3-5 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment; 5and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly;… Jude 1:6 And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling–these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day. Read Daniel chapter 7 he had a vision of Judgment day also: Thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat……The court was seated, and the books were opened. God does not condemn people to hell they do that themselves with their choices and life of sin. There is no fear of God anymore, the new age teaching has replaced that with a cotton candy tickling ear gospel that is a false gospel. Yes Jesus taught love, he taught us to love our neighbors and our enemies as ourself. But He also taught us to fear God. God will judge the nations, and he will judge us. We will stand before Christ some day and have to give account to Him. He will separate the sheep and the goats, the sheep to everlasting life and the goats to eternal damnation with the devils and his angels.
        “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy[a] angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

        37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

        41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’

        44 “Then they also will answer Him,[b] saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
        You can’t have salvation without repentance, true repentance. The church is falling away and following a man made gospel. I pray for all to open their eyes. I hope this helped Catherine. Keep your eyes focused on Jesus, and the scriptures. God Bless you!

      • Here is one Catherine: John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
        And 2 Corinthians 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
        If you go to the blue letter Bible on line and look at this verse and what sufficiency means you find this: competency to do a thing. So we find that without God we can not perform or do anything. You can find that definition here.http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=G2426&t=KJV Bless you Catherine!

      • For Catherine, 13 Feb:
        Jeremiah 23: The Righteous Branch
        1 “Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” declares the Lord.
        2 Therefore thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the shepherds who care for my people: “You have scattered my flock and have driven them away, and you have not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for your evil deeds, declares the Lord.
        3 Then I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and I will bring them back to their fold, and they shall be fruitful and multiply.
        4 I will set shepherds over them who will care for them, and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be missing, declares the Lord.
        5 “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. 6 In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: ‘The Lord is our righteousness.’
        7 “Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when they shall no longer say, ‘As the Lord lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt,’
        8 nd led the offspring of the house of Israel out of the north country and out of all the countries where he[a] had driven them.’ Then they shall dwell in their own land.”

        Modernist Preacher – Entering Hell
        Oscar C. Eliason, 1960
        He was an ordained minister, but modern in his views.
        He preached his twisted doctrines to people in the pews.
        He would not hurt their feelings, whate’er the cost would be,
        But for their smiles and friendship and compliments sought he.
        His church was filled with wicked souls that should be saved from sin, But never once he showed the way or tried a soul to win.
        He preached about the lovely birds that twitter in the trees,
        The babl’ing of the running brooks, the murm’ring of the seas.
        He quoted fancy poetry that tickled list’ning ears
        When sorrow came to some, he tried to laugh away their tears.
        His smooth and slipp’ry sermons made the people slide to hell.
        The harm he did by preaching goes beyond what we can tell.
        He took our Holy Bible, and preached it full of holes,
        The Virgin Birth, said he can’t be believed by honest souls,
        The miracles of Jesus and the resurrection tale
        For educated ones like us, today, cannot avail.
        We’re living in an age, said he, when wisdom rules and reigns,
        When man’s intelligence is great and superstition wanes.
        He said, we’re all God’s children who live upon this earth,
        No message of salvation, no need of second birth.
        His coat was bought with money that he had wrongly gained,
        For through his twisted sermons his wealth he had obtained.
        He was just like the Roman soldiers that watched at Jesus’ grave,
        For money in abundance, to them, the people gave;
        It all was theirs by telling what was a sinful lie –
        A resurrected Savior, they, too, were to deny.
        The day at last had come for the minister to die,
        When to his congregation, he had to say good-bye.
        His form lay cold and lifeless, his ministry was past,
        His tongue with all its poison was hushed and stilled at last.
        His funeral was grand; he was lauded to the skies-
        They preached him into heaven where there are no good-byes.
        Upon the lonely hill, underneath the shady trees,
        His form was laid to rest in the whisp’ring of the breeze.
        A tombstone was erected with words: “He is at rest,
        He’s gone to heaven’s glories to live among the blest.”
        His body now is lifeless, but Ah! His soul lives on,
        He failed to enter in where they thought that he had gone.
        The letters on the tombstone or that sermon some had heard,
        Could not decide his destiny, ’twas not the final word.
        He still had God to deal with, the one who knows the heart;
        While others entered heaven, he heard the word, “Depart.”
        He pauses for a moment upon the brink of hell;
        He stares into a depth where he evermore will dwell.
        He hears the cries and groanings of souls he had misled,
        He recognizes faces among the screaming dead.
        He sees departed deacons which he had highly praised.
        Their fingers pointing at him as they their voices raised:
        “You stood behind the pulpit, and lived in awful sin,
        We took you for a saint, but a liar you have been.”
        Accusing cries! He hears them, “Ah! You have been to blame,
        You led us into darkness when you were seeking fame.”
        “You preached your deadly doctrine, we thought you knew the way.
        We fed you and we clothed you, we even raised your pay.
        You’ve robbed us of a home where no tear-drops ever flow,
        Where days are always fair and the heav’nly breezes blow.
        Where living streams are flowing, and saints and Angels sing,
        Where every one is happy, and Hallelujahs ring.
        We’re in this place of torment, from which no soul returns;
        We hear the cry of lost ones, we feel the sizzling burns;
        Give us a drop of water, we’re tortured in this flame;
        You failed to preach salvation to us through Jesus’ Name.”
        The preacher turns in horror, he tries to leave the scene,
        He knows the awful future for every soul unclean,
        But there he meets the devil, whom he has served so well,
        He feels the demon powers as they drag him into hell.
        Throughout eternal ages, his groans, too, must be heard-
        He, too, must suffer torment-he failed to heed God’s Word.
        He feels God’s wrath upon him, he hears the hot flames roar,
        His doctrine now is different, he ridicules no more.
