“Mary Did You Know”

This song always, no matter what time of year I hear it, brings chills and tears. I have read this scripture since I was a child.

Luke 1
26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.

28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.

30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.

32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

I have often wondered if Mary knew she bore the Great I Am.

Let’s not get lost in modern day Christmas, and remember the miraculous birth of our Lord and Saviour. I’m unapologetic in hailing this miracle no matter when we celebrate it. So yes I quote scripture when I say “Hail Mary Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.” Merriam Webster defines Hail as:  to greet with enthusiastic approval : acclaim. hailed as a great success. : salute, greet.

We can’t honor Christ or the Father without celebrating His birth. And the courage and resolve of one woman who had enough faith and courage to believe the Angel of God!

May we each be granted this same faith and courage as we walk through the end times!

May we each be filled with the joy of the Angels announcing His birth!

May we each be filled with the wonder that the Kings who looked on His birth felt!

For God so loved the world he gave His only Son so that everyone who believes shall have eternal life! John 3:16
