A Note To Gen X From A Boomer

I know the ridicule that our youth gives us boomers but like it or not we have a wealth of knowledge to pass on. And we know what lies ahead.

As a boomer my grandparents and parents survived WWll, the Great depression, and the Korean War.  They witnessed world changing events and still raised us to trust in God and your government.  As boomers we found that perhaps our government could not be trusted.  We Witnessed an assassination of JFK, a US President, his brother Bobby who was a Senator,  and Martin Luther King Jr., a true Civil Rights icon.  We witnessed Watergate, and the Vietnam War.  We’ve witnessed more corruption, riots and destruction in our lifetimes than even our grandparents and parents.  And yet current events make the above pale in comparison.  You see We know what lies ahead.  We were there at the beginning, we shouted never again just as our parents did.  Never again will we allow our friends and family to be spit on, cursed at and called derogatory names for defending freedom.  And yet here we are.  A corrupt government comparable to the very governments we fought to keep from our shores. A family member who survived Vietnam, once said to me when asked about another family member joining the military today, he said “They will do what their government says and come home and regret it for threat of their life.”
We know what lays ahead. Grab the boomers in your family and friends and talk to them, ask questions and trust in God alone.
Teach your children the values and morals that we hold dear.

Teach them not to be ashamed of the Gospel of Christ.
Teach them not to be ashamed of our country or our military that fought to defend freedom against socialism, marxism and communism.
Teach them not to be  ashamed of those who fought for true civil rights.
As the darkness of socialism, marxism and communism digs deep into our land, teach them Christ is our saviour not a corrupt government, or a man.
Teach your children.
Remember what MLK Jr. said: “In the end we will remember not the words of our enemies,  but the silence of our friends.”

Teach them the word of God!

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ!  Come quickly Lord Jesus!
