Recently as we study and search for understanding of the times we live in, what deception and falling away we are witnessing, it brought many things to mind, and what our purpose is in prophecy. Scholars and theologians have speculated for hundreds of years about prophecy. For the last 50 years we have heard all sorts of theories about dates and times and even the purpose of America, asking where is America in prophecy? We all agree that prophecy is centered around a people and piece of land the size of New Jersey. Israel.
Then we came across the Daily Jot. His latest post was titled “A prophetic people to stand in the gap.”
As Daily Jot wrote “America stands in the gap. As persecution envelopes our world.” He states that if it weren’t for America the world would be even darker than it is now.
Could it be that simple? As America stands in the gap, so should we. We are the prophetic generation. Just as God chose the “greatest generation” to fight the worlds evil and liberate his people, God has chosen this generation for this specific time and place. To push back against evil.
Christians have a special mission to spead the gospel make all disciples, shine the light of love and hope, as the shining city on the hill. We are prophecy summed up. And how we have forgotten. Christ told the Pharasees looking for a sign: Mathew 16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.”
Do you think the sign of Jonah could be that we have found ourselves, because of little faith in the belly of darkness, blind and ignorant? We do.
The Daily Jot cited 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
Again could it be this simple? Christians throughout the centuries have been called as Gods people to stand in the darkness and tell of the greatness of His word and guide the nations as prophecy is fulfilled?
In WWll we turned away our purpose as America turned away the St. Louis carrying Jews fleeing persecution. So as His word states, he put a hook in our jaw and drug us into the war to beat all wars. With Pearl Harbor the “greatest generation” pushed back and Israel the country was born. America was the first country to recognize Israel’s birth as a country. Again prophecy fulfilled. Read the prophecy of dry bones. “Can a Nation be born in a day?”
Take a look at the Nations today that have not stood stalwart with Israel. They give lip service but their hearts are far from Gods people. Chaos envelopes them today.
Mark Twain marveled about the power of the Jewish people. Recently an Israeli publication Arutz Sheva printed an article here is a snippet of Mark Twain from that article: “Here’s what he said about the Jews, in September 1897:
“If the statistics are right, the Jews constitute but one quarter of one percent of the human race. It suggests a nebulous puff of star dust lost in the blaze of the Milky Way. Properly, the Jew ought hardly to be heard of, but he is heard of, has always been heard of. He is as prominent on the planet as any other people, and his importance is extravagantly out of proportion to the smallness of his bulk.”
Mark Twain also wrote about the desolate land of Israel before their return. What would he say today after it came back to life? Again prophecy filfilled. So American Christians are not only failing Christians who are persecuted, we are failing to push back agsinst the destruction cries for Israel.
Who would of ever thought it would be dangerous and life threatening to speak the word of God, but if we truly do stand for the truth of the gospel even death may ensue! Jesus knew how it was to be hated and has told us to remember that they hated Him before they hated us. Believe it or not when we suffer for His sake it reminds us we are no longer of the world, but have been chosen for a divine purpose (John 15:16-21).
Israel has been a hated people and frankly we are taught by our Lord if we hate our brother or anyone it is the same as being a murderer and we know there is no place in heaven for a murderer. Let’s keep the word close and know it will be in Jerusalem our Lord will one day stand in the end of days and this tells us He loves Israel.
So can you begin to see America’s place in prophecy? We are a nation of Holy people specifically called for this prophetic time and place will we fail? Or will we rise up and speak out? Will Christ find us as He found the Pharisees of His day, worshipping in name only? Will He find us doing our Father’s business or will we be giving lip service only? Raising our hands in worship with rock music, ignoring the prophets of old? He could give us the same word He gave the Pharisees. Choose wisely.
