It has been said that scripture is revealed to us through the Holy Spirit. Christ promised the Holy Spirit would guide us into all knowledge. Through Christ, our acceptance of Him and baptism with the name of our Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit we receive this great gift of truth and knowledge. The book of Isaiah gives a clear picture of the Holy Spirit. There are 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit.
• Wisdom
• Understanding
• Counsel
• Fortitude
• Knowledge
• Piety
• Fear of the Lord
Isaiah 11
And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
This chapter is known to us as a prophecy of Christ.
Paul explains the gifts of the Holy Spirit to the Corinthians.
Why do some not understand what the Holy Spirit is? Weve heard many say unless you speak in tongues you don’t have the Holy Spirit. Many claim to have the Holy Spirit yet dont rely on His knowledge to guide them. Always using a man made interpretation of scripture. Some even arguing over the meaning of one word or a comma. Many claim to have the Holy Spirit yet turn to man to intrepret the times we live in. Many claim to have the Holy Spirit yet completely live in the shadows of Gods word denying that He alone could lead to understanding.
We need to understand what the Holy Spirit brings us to survive the times we are living in. If you denounce this power you will fall for every erroneous doctrine and lie of satan.
We are living in a darkness today that will consume our souls if we don’t get this right.
The holy spirit guides us in the will of God, and is an anointing which teaches us all things. We abide in Him and He in us by the spirit of truth. It is a sure sign one is born again when righteousness dwells within. “But the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you:but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you,ye shall abide in Him. And now,little children, abide in Him, that, when He shall appear, we may have confidence,and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.If ye know that He is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of Him.(1 John 2:27-29).
The holy spirit is of old ,even long before Jesus was born. This was spoken of by Isaiah before Jesus ever spoke these words”The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor: he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind ,to set at liberty them that are bruised ,to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.(Luke 4:18,19),(Isaiah 61:1,2).
Sure we could live our life without the Lord, but that would leave us with little hope and comfort. God saw to it that we would not walk alone,and by His spirit we are as He is in this world.(1 John 4:17).
