A local news station had for their word for the day, “Emblazon”. Which started us thinking. An online dictionary gave this for emblazon:
“celebrate or extol publicly.”
“their success was emblazoned”
As Christians we all at some point exclaim publicly we are a follower of Christ. After all this is a core tenet of Christ’s Doctrine. In Mathew 10 Christ says if you confess him before men He will do the same for you to His Father.
It seems every week we hear of Christians coming under attack for proclaiming their faith, like the cheerleaders who simply wanted a Bible verse on their banner, or the coach who was fired for taking a knee in prayer on the field after every game, win or lose. Or those in the Middle East, Africa and the East who face desth or persecution for their faith.
These Christians have emblazoned their heart with their faith in Christ. How many of us can say the same thing?
2 corinthians 3
Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?
2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
Paul says in another letter “I bear the mark of Christ on my body.”
We have much to celebrate. So many promises the greatest being eternal life with our Lord. But with that comes our faith, our loyalty and our trust in Him. There are some pastors who still preach the word of God unaltered but many have changed it to fit the world view. These do not have Christ emblazoned in their heart. You can worship every Sunday or Saturday, whatever your belief but is He emblazoned on your heart and soul? In other words can the world tell your different?
We are the light that shines in a dark world because man’s Deeds are evil they hate the Light of Christ that shines through the believer.
God through his infinite love has made the provision for all to gain eternal life by believing in his son to a world in dire need of a savior. (John 3:16-21)
We are the salt of the earth and a light that is set on a hill and cannot be hid. (Mathew 5:13-19)
