When God Is Among Us

We can hear the word of God all day, but unless we understand it are we able to apply it to our life. In the parable of the sower we learn of the truth which says satan is as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.”When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side(Matthew 13:19-23). 19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

When we truly hear the word of God it by no means stop the unrighteous which surrounds us, nor does it keep us from the filthy communication spoken of by the wicked when it is near us. The word does however when kept within our hearts and minds does protect and keep us, and by it the Lord delivers us as we read of when Noah and Lot also viewed the ungodly and was delivered while in the midst of the situation. This is the peace that passes all understanding in the midst of the storms of life that keeps and comforts us by the holy spirit of God(2 Peter 2:4-9).For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:(For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
