Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
What does it mean to be of one accord? Paul explains it well. That we may act as if we are one mouth to Glorify YeHoVah, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
How do we obtain this union? The Holy Spirit. He brings us all into Christ, knowledge and wisdom of the Father.
Can two walk together, except they be agreed?(Amos 3:3).
At times we are not in agreement with others and that is fine as we can agree to disagree, but God does not expect that of those who love and follow Him. There is no room for conflict and division, but that we be of one Accord armed with the truth of Christ! (Phillipians 2:1-5).
Abraham was a man who walked with God, although a very meek man, (Numbers 12:3) was made to be the father of many nation’s. He knew how to walk in one accord with his brethren as we read in Genesis 13:8-12.
Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! (Psalm 133:1).
When we write our Monday Posts, we know that the Holy Spirit will give us a topic, then together in prayer we ask for guidance and knowledge. It never ceases to amaze us how we can write and it fits together so good that we cant tell which one of us wrote what, or where one begins and the other ends. Last week, I thought we had left out part of what Julia wrote, so I panicked, I found that it was there, I had not realized who wrote what. We had a good laugh and Praised our Father, as He had amazed us once again. You see we write what our Father says through the Holy Spirit. Thats a prime example of being one mouth as Paul taught, to Glorify God.
The Body of Christ has forgotten what its like to be as one.
Bible studies are conducted without guidance from the Holy Spirit. Using mans words instead of Gods word. You see when the Holy Spirit is absent, men use men’s books and translations, and non-canonical books to understand. This leads to division and false doctrine.
In 1 Corthians 2, Paul tells us we must study and speak in the Holy Spirit, not the words of men. Yet so many ignore this preferring instead to speak words of mans interpretations. One will say, but the Greek says…or this manuscript says…or… it goes on and on.
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
Look no further than the word of God for understanding. God’s word was written so that we may search it out and find the truth. For example, if a word is confusing, look in the Bible, with guidance from the Holy Spirit for other passages containing that word. The Bible interprets itself.
Now more than ever it’s important for the Body of Christ to ban together, let God’s Glory be shone to the world. All Glory is His!
