The Importance Of Knowing God’s Holy Name

Why does the name of God matter?  Lets find the answer to that question.  Im not a scholar or theologian or pastor, but I will attempt to write truth as I glean from scholars and theologians led by the Holy Spirit.  Food for meditation or thought.   Christ said He would send us the counsel of the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth.  I long for His return to sit at the feet of the Master!  (Please read to the end before watching the video)

When I study the scriptures I do so with the holy spirit, no matter what the translation is.  He has opened up so much that was hidden to me until I submitted to His will, knowledge and guidance.

I have been studying and grabbing everything I could in my quest for truth.  Some I keep some I discard and some I place in the archives of my mind for future reference.  One thing I’ve learned is you can’t know prophecy or the word unless you go to the beginning.  The beginning of scripture.  As John says, in the beginning was the word.

Why does the name of God matter?  We know Him as Father.  But lets not forget in ancient times there were so many Gods, not names for god but many gods.  Ancient Israel learned this the hard way.  Why when we have a guide through mans quest put forth by God do we choose to ignore this?  Why when we have detailed instructions and warnings from Gods word and commands (the Torah) do we ignore this?  Its a slippery slope that erroneous doctrine has taken us down, to teach Christians that this doesnt matter, we need not concern ourselves with this, this law and covenant matters not.  That is false.

Today we see so many lies about the name of God.  Even Christians have fallen for the greatest deception ever!  Believing that there are many names of God, such as Allah, Budha, or simply God. But they believe a lie!

There are NOT many names of God.  There are many gods period and we have to get this right.  The greatest commandment was told by Jesus himself:  “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.”

Ancient Hebrew knew this.  His name is Yahovah, not Allah, not Buddah not Bel or anything else.  Just as Daniel prophesied many things were sealed until the time of the end.  Many Christian teachings only gloss the surface of what Yeshua taught.  Take the Lords prayer for example.  The King James version tells us at the end that the Kingdom, the power and the glory are His forever.   But did you ever think about where Yeshua got this?  Did He make it up?  As part of a new radical teaching?  NO.  Look at Zechariah 14:9 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.

9 And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.  10 All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin’s gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king’s winepresses.

He’s telling us about Yeshua!  And hes telling us His kingdom, power and Glory will be forever.  Hes telling us His name will be one!  Not many names for one God.  Yehovah told us Himself through Moses “I AM the Lord your God there is none other!”

“I am the LORD thy God” (KJV, also “I am Yahweh your God” NJB, WEB) is the opening phrase of the Ten Commandments, which are widely understood as moral imperatives by ancient legal historians and Jewish and Christian biblical scholars. (Wiki)

Hebrew is thought by some to be a pure language, and is thought to be the language spoken by all before the tower of Babel when God confused the language.  Some say theres no proof.  Christ and His disciples were well versed in Hebrew.  They knew the pictographs and what the letters meant.  One site devoted to Messianic prophecy ( shows that the letters of the hebrew name for God(Jehovah) reveal Christ!  They lay it out to say the letters reveal this way, yood=hand, Hey=reveal, VaV=nail, HeY=reveal.  So it reads the hand reveals the nail.  Christ revealed His nail scarred hands to Thomas!

Thats one interpretation.  Michael Rood reveals similar about the name God.

So back to why its important, remember Christ said:  I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.  15As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. John 10

Paul tells us there is but one God.

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. (Ephesians 4)

Now we have to get this right.  Our eternity depends on it!  To touch on a very controversial subject, I do not shy away from controversial subjects.  There are many Denominations that claim truth from visioneries.  I dont need to name them.  These visions that changes doctrines are very dangerous, looking at them it shows that they very rarely follow scripture.  I have been going back to the beginning for years.  To study and be approved as gospel tells us.  I repeat, I take or glean from all what the Holy Spirit tells me to.  I find that all scholars and teachers have some things right, but few, if any have all things right.  That said I have been searching through Rabbinical teachings, most preferably Messianic Rabbinical teachings and mysteries previously hidden have been revealed.  With that in mind I want to share this video by Michael Rood.  Im well aware of the negative controversy surrounding this man.  I’ve found he is not a cult that denies Christ, the Holy Spirit or the word of God.  He has searched for truth and what he points out is how the beginning points to the end, and how Christ was as John said the beginning.

Even in his controversial book The Chronological Gospels he is not changing or adding to scripture, he is merely showing the chronological gospel of Christ.  I find it very interesting and found myself gleaning historical facts not addressed by many that do indeed follow scripture.  That said please watch with an open mind guided by the Spirit.  His videos take time to watch and about half way through you see the meat of what hes trying to portray.  It was this video that opened my eyes to why Jesus gave the Lords prayer.  Pay attention to the Rabbinical researcher explaing the ending of Jewish prayers (zechariah 14:9) and you will see what is revealed by Christ in the Lords prayer.

Again, we have to get this right!  For many have already come into the world in HIS name.  Do not be deceived.
1 John 4

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error

Revelation 12:9

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Authors note:  The Bible teaches us that through the pages of Gods word he was known by Father, The Great  I Am, Yahweh, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, Lord and Jehovah.  I think that these are acceptable, but there is no other translation acceptable.  Only one God!  And His name is Yahovah not Allah, not Budha, not Bel or molech.  You get the idea.  Awaiting Christ’s return.

  2. Thanks for sharing this. I had seen an earlier video with Nehemia Gordon on this exact subject and have been searching for the correct pronunciation of HaShem for a couple years now.

Scripture commands us to call on the name of our God repeatedly, it is obviously very important and something the enemy has worked hard to cover up. When he fell Yah replaced his name with a title, the “Adversary”. And the adversary has successfully clouded the name of YHWH (Yehovah) with a title -“Lord.”

I pray that more truth be revealed to those pursuing intimacy, understanding of the One True Holy Eternal Adonai…Yehovah.

Rev. 22:20 'Surely I am coming quickly, Amen. Even so, come Lord Jesus!'
