There seems to be some confusion in the body of Christ. I say this because of behaviors. There seems to be large groups of those that identify as Christian. Thats not a politically correct statement but spot on, you see there is more to following Christ than to simply say I am a Christian. Acknowledging Christ and defying Gods word and sound doctrine, does not make you a Christian. Theres more to it than simply believing. The Bible tells us even demons believe in Christ.
I heard it said recently that living under Grace does not exclude the law. Yes we are not under the law of old, even Christ followed Gods commands. When asked which commandment was greatest : “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it,Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
So how can Christians be filled with so much hatred, greed, anger and vengeance? How can Christians deny that there are consequences to sin? How can they change doctrine to accomodate sin? Yes they are even if they arent committing the sin by remaining silent for fear of offending they are guilty and will be held accountable.
Too many Pastors have diluted the Gospel and refuse to preach that the punishment for sin is death. Or they refuse to teach that Hell is real. We may not have the power to condemn a person to hell, or even judge a persons heart, but we do have power of discernment and knowledge to teach someone what will happen if they sin without true repentance, and that is Hell. Hell is real, and Jesus gives a detailed example of what will send someone to hell. In fact Jesus spoke more of Hell than He did Heaven. Mathew 13 is one of many.
Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age.41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness,42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
So you get the point, and we are commanded, as taught to Judge light from darkness. Some denominations believe there is no hell that you simply go to sleep and not wake up. They base that on the scripture that says God will turn your enemies to dust. Completely ignoring Jesus’ teaching on Hell.
So its not surprising that Jesus warned we would be hated by ALL for his names sake. I believe true followers of Christ are hated by even diluted Christians.
Persecution is here. Just take a trip through Social Media if you want to see what Im talking about.
In the news recently I watched a confirmation hearing of a Justice appointee by Trump. It resembled more the Roman hearings that Peter and Paul were subjected too. This appointee was repeatedly asked about her Christian Faith. And treated as if this Faith was an abomination. Its begun. Its time to wake up.
So many want to argue about the law, but Jesus said He did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill it and He did. Just as many say we are not suppose to judge yet Jesus said we are not suppose to judge according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment!(John 7:19-24).
Scripture does not hide the reasons any one of us could be on the road that leads to hell. It is the difference of sowing to the flesh or to the spirit, a matter of a life of corruption or reaping everlasting life!(Galatians 6:7-10).
If we stay lax in believing there is only a heaven and not a hell, it is this way of thinking that may jeopardize what happens to us for all eternity. Hell truly does exist as we see with Lazarus and the rich man in the story of one who actually went there and was not able to have so much as a drop of water to cool him!(Luke 16:22-31). And yes we can judge and choose not to be a part of doctrines of demons or those Christians who walk in darkness.
For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.7 Therefore do not be partakers with them.
Walk in Light
8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. 14 Therefore He says:
“Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light.”
Walk in Wisdom
15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
