A Testament Of Faith In Disaster: A Houston Police Officer Lost His Life In The Floods

John 15:13

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

I watched as Houston Police officials tell about the officer that died in this flood trying to get to his duty station, and what he said brought tears of joy to me.  He said, he and his family was people of faith.  And he said: “When you have faith you have hope of eternal life.”
The official said that this officer left his home, I believe his name was Perez, at 4 a.m. on Sunday.    They said they knew that he tried multiple routes out of the flood zone to get to his duty station.   Sunday morning at roll call they realized he was not present, they knew that he was a dedicated officer with multiple years of service to Houston,  so they began searching.  They called his wife and she said she had not seen him or heard from him since 4 a.m. on Sunday.   She said she told him not to go but he said, we have work to do.  He was that dedicated. They narrowed their search down yesterday to two different areas but it was too dangerous for the dive team to come in that night,  so they left officers there to watch over him and the next morning which would be this morning,  the dive team found him.

There is no greater Testament of Faith than this,  he laid down his life for his friends and fellow citizens.

May God comfort his wife and family.  Rest in Gods arms hero!

May God Bless and keep the citizens of Texas in His hands.
