Speaking in Tongues

It is time to put an end to what people say is speaking in tongues and then go on to speak Gibberish!

There are those who are speaking word’s inaudible at times and call it a language from God. IS THIS FROM GOD?

When we search the word,God plainly answers any questions we have as Believers. The gift of tongues is no different than when Jesus spoke in parables, and the disciples would then ask what did that mean? He did’nt speak in an unknown gibberish, but the disciples heard his words then asked for an explanation of which then Jesus would explain in their own language. “And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. And he said unto them,Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand;lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them”.(Mark4:10-12).

And what is this mystery he’s speaking of? “Even the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; WHICH IS CHRIST IN YOU,THE HOPE OF GLORY: Whom we preach (NOT IN GIBBERISH),warning every man,and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus”.(Colossians 1:26-28).

THE BARBARIAN……………Lacking Wisdom,Unlearned,Alien,Inferior.

We need to look at the meaning of this word Barbarian and know that none of the meanings described above are of someone who knows God’s knowledge. The gibberish people speak and say it is from God need to be aware when being a servant of Christ the word’s they speak are FOUND IN SCRIPTURE!,,just as Jesus would speak his Fathers words to explain his meaning.

When the Holy Spirit gives knowledge of God to the believer it is of their own language spoken to feed many as seen here: “And there appeared unto them cloven tongues (seperate language),as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak IN HIS OWN LANGUAGE.And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galileans? And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?”(Acts 2:3-8).

Ever been all fired up about the Lord and with a group of people that look at you like deer in headlights? There’s nothing wrong with that, because God’s Spirit seperates and you are no longer of the world’s ways and if you were asked for meaning of what you just spoke you would BE ABLE TO SHOW ANSWER IN SCRIPTURE!

Not go to a book of gibberish seperate from the bible that is probably out there in print somewhere saying it’s the language of God………NO! The only language of God is The Holy Written Word called the Bible.

“How can the body of Christ be edified if you can’t understand Gibberish? “Else when thou shalt bless with the Spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what you sayest? For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all. Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, THAN TEN THOUSAND WORDS IN AN UNKNOWN TONGUE”.(1 Corinthians 14:16-19).

Is this Gibberish some are speaking of God?

No,because when one opens the bible the words you read you understand, because your reading it in your own language. If you speak english you purchase an english written bible….If you speak spanish then you purchase a spanish written bible and I suppose if you can find the BOOK OF GIBBERISH you can purchase that as well, but know it is Not The Word Of God.

A True Servant Of God Speaks Only God’s Words To Edify The Body Of Christ. “And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine”.(John 10:5,14).

  4. ForHisGlory52…….The speaking in tongues that is viewed on a lot of Christian tv today and some churches are shown speaking words that are not understood , and are barbaric in nature as told us in 1 Corinthians 14:11-12 and does not edify the church. Christ church is a language of the Holy Spirit and is easily understood. I hope this helps you. God Bless You.

  5. Hi Julia! I have read this article, and I have to say that I find it very confusing. I’m not sure whether you think that speaking in tongues is biblical or not. I hope that you can clarify this for me. Thanks! God Bless

    • ForHisGlory52;

The subject of “Glossolalia” or “Speaking in Tongues’, speaking in another language than that which is our native language, is of course Scriptural as recorded by the Apostle Paul.

It was a common thing in the ancient, pre-Nicene Christian Church. Yes, it was a supernatural thing as are ALL of the other Gifts of The Holy Spirit, and is STILL operational as are ALL the other gifts of the SPIRIT.

The problem in the modern church era is that the instructions of the Apostles are disregarded.

The Apostles state plainly that in the assembly no one is to speak in an unknown, supernatural language, UNLESS they have the INTERPRETATION of it. The interpretation is necessary so that the Word from The LORD may be spoken in the language of those present, that ALL may be edified.

Otherwise, the Apostle says, “Remain silent and speak to yourselves and to GOD”. It is the MIS-USE of “Tongues” that has brought confusion into the modern church.

The very thing mentioned above happened to me as a baby Christian. I wanted to find a church that still believed that GOD’S Word was the same as it was in the beginning of the Church and that HE+ does not change.

I went into a church to visit and I heard the congregation making a loud noise. As I approached the lobby, I looked through the little window in the door and saw and heard the whole group yelling out-loud in a strange, unintelligible language that I did not understand!

I did not know what was happening and turned and ran out of there! I started my car and hurried away down the road!

Of course this is what the Apostle said what WOULD HAPPEN, “If, therefore, the whole church assembles together and all are speaking in other tongues and people who are outsiders or unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your minds?” I Corinthians 14:23

This is what happened to me as a baby Christian! It is the breaking of the Apostles’ instructions that is the problem. Do I speak in Tongues? Yes, to myself and to my LORD+. Unless HE+ gives an interpretation, I do not speak in the assembly. Otherwise, no one would know I speak in tongues.

Paul the Apostle said: “I thank GOD that I speak in tongues more than you all!” However, this is only one of the precious gifts of the Blessed Holy Spirit that are enumerated in 1 Corinthians. They are ALL a blessing and are to be used with fear and trembling. They are NOT to be mis-used or faked. They are nothing to play with!

We are going to need the Supernatural Power of the Holy Spirit to be able to stand in the days just ahead of us. Let us draw near to our LORD+ and submit to HIM+ in ALL things.

      Let us hear the Apostle’s Words in 1 Corinthians 14: 39-40 :

Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

Let all things be done decently and in order.

      • Samson7able, Thank you so much for your reply. I too speak in tongues, and as when you say you do. The Lord led me to this site a couple of years ago. I read all of your posts. I have learned so much from you, and have been so blessed. I don’t go to any church. I had bad experiences in some of them that I had attended, and I didn’t feel like I was growing. I do my bible study online, trusting in different blogs (like this one) where the Holy Spirit has led me. There are so many false teachers in the world, and so many Christians are being led astray. Thank you for being a blessing to me and for helping me grow in my Faith. May the Lord richly bless you as you endeavor to do His Will.
