When men of God act like men of the world what happens?
The Bible is full of what happens when Godly people turn to lies and wealth and still claim to be servants of God. Since the beginning Satan has whispered lies into the ears of Gods people starting with Adam and Eve.
All throughout the old and New Testament we see this. From Adam all the way to today.
The Jews even after witnessing the miracle of the Exodus still turned away from God, building a Golden calf as they grew weary waiting for the promised land. (Exodus 32)
They eventually wanted a King to lead them. Samuel was a great Spiritual leader of Israel. As he grew old he appointed his sons as judges of Israel, but again men of God listened to Satan and his sons, began to accept bribes (wealth) over righteous judgements, so the people went to Samuel and begged for a king to rule them. This didn’t make God extremely happy. He told Samuel that they were rejecting God, and to give them what they wanted as they turned from God in many ways even worshipping other gods. So Samuel tried to warn the people what a King would do in taking a tenth of property, making servants of their daughters etc. But they still demanded a King. They trusted a man more than God. And that’s how Saul came to be King as God chose him to deliver Israel from the Philistines. But Saul disobeyed God when He told him to slay the Amelekites even animals and to take no spoil. Saul was consumed with greed and disobeyed God. So the kingdom was taken away, and Saul was killed by the Philistines. And it goes on and on.
You see the pattern of what happens when men of God turn to satans promise of wealth on earth. Jesus warned over and over about this in His ministry. Even Jesus was tempted by satan. And promised the world. But He overcame and stayed His course.
But fast forward to modern day and you see the shepards called to feed the flock of Jesus and you see prosperity Gospel winning over the true Doctrine of Christ. You know the message that says “Sell everything you have give to the poor and take up your cross and follow me”. They forgot that part. What about don’t store up treasures on earth. You get the point.
I personally have been hurt by this type of lying shepard. The Deacons and Pastors who lead double lives. You know them. The ones who think they are above the law. The ones who think they can lie and cheat in their business dealings and Noone will know. The hurt they cause to people who believe they are men of God and could never lie or cheat is immeasurable. Thousands have turned from God because of this.
Recently I was hurt so severely by a so called man of God that I even questioned my discernment. Because if I could be so dense to believe because a man says he is a man of God, a man called to guide God’s people than maybe my discernment was wrong about more. Than God again gave me my answer in His word. And again He led me to false shepards, false prophets and how they destroy.
Another example is from Saeed Abidini. A pastor came forward from a well known ministry, and tried to say he was a righteous man executing righteous judgment. He used his position of power as a man of God to say Saeed wasn’t worthy to win souls, wasn’t a worthy man of God because Saeeds wife left him, planted false allegations and even calked for Christians not to support him financially. Well days ago this so called righteous judge was removed from his post for acts of adultry. Two families and thousands of people hurt by this wolf in sheep’s clothing, but he asks for mercy. And we will give mercy and forgive because that’s what Jesus taught us. And because we all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. But why don’t the shepards practice mercy and righteousness?
What about the shepards saying abortion is ok, and homosexuality is not a sin?
But you begin to see what damage is caused when men of God lie and follow their own desires of wealth and lust.
My point is God allows this to happen, He knew what Saul would do and disobey him when He told Samuel to anoint Saul. But He always gives us a free choice. Remember and learn especially in these last days never turn from God. And hold the men of God to the standards of God’s word. I for one was given warning signs of the man of God who lied to me, but I ignored them, I thought he was righteous because he was a man ordained. Turn only to the Lord for guidance and run from those walking the wide path of the world.
Even today God knows the false shepards even the ones turning a blind eye to persecution. Ezekiel 34 tells us this. Why won’t they listen? They don’t fear the Lord because Satan has whispered, Thou shall not surely die.
The word of the Lord came to me:2 “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy, and say to them—to the shepherds: ‘This is what the sovereign Lord says: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who have been feeding themselves! Should not shepherds feed the flock? 3 You eat the fat, you clothe yourselves with the wool, you slaughter the choice animals, but you do not feed the sheep! 4 You have not strengthened the weak, healed the sick, bandaged the injured, brought back the strays, or sought the lost, but with force and harshness you have ruled over them.5 They were scattered because they had no shepherd, and they became food for every wild beast. 6 My sheep wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. My sheep were scattered over the entire face of the earth with no one looking or searching for them.
7 “‘Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 8 As surely as I live, declares the sovereign Lord, my sheep have become prey and have become food for all the wild beasts. There was no shepherd, and my shepherds did not search for my flock, but fed themselves and did not feed my sheep, 9 Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 10 This is what the sovereign Lord says: Look, I am against the shepherds, and I will demand my sheep from their hand. I will no longer let them be shepherds; the shepherds will not feed themselves anymore. I will rescue my sheep from their mouth, so that they will no longer be food for them.
11 “‘For this is what the sovereign Lordsays: Look, I myself will search for my sheep and seek them out. 12 As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his scattered sheep, so I will seek out my flock. I will rescue them from all the places where they have been scattered on a cloudy, dark day.
