Enduring To The End

Why does God allow sufferring? Why does God allow the wicked to prosper?  Why, why why, we hear it alot.  From believers and non-believers.  Jesus fulfilled prophecy throughout the Bible.  Yet, His message was lost.  Lost in generations that would rather believe lies.  Lies that we will have anything our heart desires, that we won’t endure tribulation, we will be snatched from it.  Tell that to the Christians killed and persecuted throughout the centuries.  Tell that to those who are enduring genocide today.  Tell that to the Christians who died in concentration camps along with millions of Jews.  Tell that to the innocent children facing evil and death in the Middle East today. Tell that to the brethren arrested and facing execution for their unwavering Faith in Iran, North Korea, China all across the Middle East and Africa.   We have forgotten messsages from Jesus like:

Ear has not seen nor ear heard what God has in store. (1 Corinthians 2:9)

My kingdom is not of this world.(John 18:36)

In my Father’s house are many mansions, I go to prepare a place for you. (John 14)

To those who endure to the end…(Mathew 24:13 & James 1:12)

Whoever humbles himself will be exalted. Luke 14

You will be hated by all… Mathew 24)

Fear not, I will never leave you nor forsake you. (Mathew 28:20)

Take up your cross and follow me. My burden is easy… (if you lived in His time, you would know His burden was easier than those living under the law. And not twist this to mean we would have an easy road.) Mathew 16

Paul wrote of the persecutions he endured, yet also told that out of them all, the Lord delivered him!  He tells us to never forget what we have learned of Christ even from our childhood, and how we are given seal action by keeping our faith in Christ.(2Timothy 3:10-15).

Jesus put it very plainly how life would be difficult, but through believing in and following His teaching we would be able to endure afflictions with the help and comfort of the Holy Spirit he would send.

He even outlines what it would be like before His return when His disciples asked for a sign. For those who would endure to the very end they shall be saved.(Matthew 24:3-13),(Matthew 10:22).

Jesus loved His disciples do you think that their death and persecution wasn’t important to Him?  He warned them what was coming for them.  All were killed except John.  He warned all believers “in the world you will have trouble but take heed I have overcome the world.” He warned us of those who came throughout the centuries and of those here today seeking to destroy God’s people.

John 16

16 “All this I have told you so that you will not fall away. They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God.They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me. I have told you this, so that when their time comes you will remember that I warned you about them.
When you study the Bible and the testament of Christ, given to us you begin to see a clear picture of the true gift He gave us.

As Jesus gathered His disciples for the last time He told them He would be leaving them.  But He told them not to be troubled as He was going to prepare a place for them.  A place in His Father’s house where there were many mansions.  This was hard for them to understand as they lived in a time much like we’re in today. They expected him to overthrow the evil Roman empire and give them an easy life.  Even though He taught that the ruler of the world was not for us to worship.  He prayed that we would not be taken from the world but would separate from it.  That we would unite as one with Him and the Father and spread His Gospel until He returns. (John 17)

Yet the church today preaches a different Gospel.  A Gospel that teaches abundance and prosperity ignoring that we will face trials and tribulations but that if we endured to the end, He would never leave us.

We are told when one suffers we are to suffer as one in the body with them.  We are told to care for the widows and orphans. And to endure to the end.  Jesus told Nicademus “how can I tell you of heavenly things when you don’t even understand earthly things ”  I think He is still telling us that today.

John 3:10-18

10 “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things? 11 Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. 12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? 13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man. 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

This is the crux of the Gospel of Christ and yet many don’t , in fact they refuse to teach this for fear of offending.  There is only ONE way to heaven.  And we must endure to the end spreading His doctrine, not doctrines of demons.

We as true believers know the gift is life eternal and the joys that await us.  Yes we will endure tribulation, but God goes before us and provides our needs.  We also know we are winners!  We have Victory in Christ.  This world is not our home our riches are in Heaven with our Lord.  We are assured the Victory.  Jesus taught us to pray and that prayer ends with “For thine is the Glory, the Power and the Kingdom forever!”
