I watch the battles raging in the world, even in the people around me. At times it’s overwhelming. As I watch evil unfolding not only in the world but in this country, and even the battles raging in people we encounter on a daily basis; at work, in our families. Yes even in our families their struggles become a burden. I watch those around me struggle with spiritual battles even demonic in nature. I see satan at work in so many lives and they are unable to recognize what is happening. Some struggle with addiction, some with abusive relationships, some with PTSD from war, and even hatred from fellow Christians.
This morning I asked God as I do every morning, what is my word for today? But you see the last week or so, I realized that it’s been a while since I asked God what is my word for today. I became so enthralled in the world and the struggling people around me, the people spreading hate, confusion and division, and the slaughter and genocides in the world, that I took my eyes off Jesus briefly as Peter did when he sank. So this morning I asked God to forgive me and give me a closer walk, and this is what He gave me, we sometimes forget this.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Take heart, Christ has overcome the world and He warned us thousands of years ago that in this world we will have trouble, but in Him we can have peace. Concentrate on this today and every day, and whatever you do don’t take your eyes off Him even for a second! And have Peace. May the Peace that passeth all understanding be yours today and every day until He returns!
