” Enter Into His Rest “

zm87u6tr4xc

We are complete in Christ and the more we learn of Him the less of a pull all the unrest of the world will have on us. It is a righteous thing with God to repay tribulation to those who trouble us, but only if we remain patient through our faith when being faced with trials and persecutions. We are to rest in Him. (2 Thessalonians 1:3-7).  We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

When we truly understand that the power of Christ within us causes one to rest in knowing it is not by our power but by the power of Christ do we stand. We can put off all the struggle of trying to do everything on our own and find rest in Him. Remember greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world. (Matthew 11:28-30).  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Our labour is never in vain in the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:57,58), He is our refuge and a resting place for our soul! For those who tend to the work of the Lord will always suffer reproach, but it is an honor to serve a sovereign and loving God who has made salvation for us and the saving of another soul that will hear His message. (1 Timothy 4:10-16).  For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. These things command and teach. Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
