The day will be when God will gather to Himself His flock that has been scattered over the land. It will be a time He will seek out the lost, and bind up that which is broken and the sick will be healed and strengthened! He will judge between the cattle and the flock of His pasture. (Ezekiel 34:11-17,28-31). For thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out. As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day. And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country. I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel. I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord God. I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment. And as for you, O my flock, thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the he goats. And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid. And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more. Thus shall they know that I the Lord their God am with them, and that they, even the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord God. And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord God.
Just as a child will not follow someone they are not familiar with, so do the children of God as His sheep do not follow an unknown teaching or voice of a stranger. We know the voice of our shepherd and the truth of His way. (John 10:1-5)……. (2 Timothy 3:14-15).
Out of love so much was placed upon our Lord which He suffered to free us from our iniquity. He was as a lamb brought to the slaughter , yet stayed humble unto the end of His life! No one but the Son of God loved any one of us more, and by His righteousness has justified many. (Isaiah 53:5-7,11). But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
It is written we too should be a good example for others and follow in His steps. Without Him we are as sheep going astray , and must through repentance return unto the shepherd of our soul. (1 Peter 2:21-25). For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

Dear Sister, dear Julia…
A wonderful post ! The picture is MOST EXCELLENT for us, because most of us are not familiar with how the sheep “Know their keeper’s voice” and come when they are called. We are not familiar with how sheep will flee from a stranger’s voice and will not follow him.
All we like SHEEP have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way.
But our iniquity has INDEED been laid upon HIM+, the UN-blemished LAMB+ of GOD.
May we ever LOVE our SAVIOR+ for carrying our sins…. AND OUR SORROWS, too.
Worthy, worthy is that dear LAMB+ of GOD, our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.
Thank you again, precious Sister, for this post.
