Everyone knows the excitement when a child is expected. Women everywhere are ecstatic, and waiting with pure exhilaration for the first movement that can be felt.
Before ultra-sounds the movement was celebrated by man and woman and all friends and family, taking turns to feel that slight kick from the womb. As the months progressed the kicks become harder and more frequent, and everyone shares in the jubilence this brings. Watching the baby grow, brings so much happiness to so many. There are even times when through the mothers abdomen you can see a tiny foot or hand print. That, if you’ve never seen it, is a true miracle. Then there is the baby’s hiccups. Yes they hiccup in the womb. At any rate just a short trip through the miracle of childbirth brings us to the debate raging in this country. Abortion. The debate which causes severe chasms in society. Causes pain, and the ripping of soul’s beyond imagination. On the pro-choice side you have the most vile rhetoric ever imagined thrown at the pro-life conservatives. As Christians we are against abortion, or should be.
I watched the Democrat debate and the town hall with Clinton and Sanders when they were asked this question.
“Do you think a child should have any legal rights or protections before its born? Or do you think there should not be any restrictions on any abortions at any stage in a pregnancy?” Baier asked.
“Under Roe v. Wade, which is rooted in the Constitution, women have this right to make this highly personal decision with their family in accordance with their faith, with their doctor,” Clinton answered. “It’s not much of a right if it is totally limited and constrained.”
They both believe in late term abortion. What does this mean??
Any abortion performed after the fetus would be viable if delivered to a non-specialized health center
In other words any abortion used after 7 months of pregnancy. Quotes by Clinton:
- “I think that the kind of late term abortions that take place are of medical necessity and would hate to see the Government interfering in that decision.”(Read here for info regarding the so called medical necessity reason)
- “I’ve said that there can be restrictions in the very end of the third trimester, but they have to take into account the life and health of the mother.
- “As president I will stand up for planned parenthood and the woman’s right to choose”
- “Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will,” she explained. “And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.
Almost 59 MILLION babies have been aborted in the US since the Roe V Wade decision. And over ONE BILLION worldwide since 1980. To visit a stat page that ticks like a clock showing abortions world wide visit here, it will shock you! And just to put the Late term abortion into perspective, the Congressional Budget Office estimated that about 10,000 unborn babies are killed each year in the United States in abortions that take place at 20 weeks or later in pregnancy. That works out to an average of 27.4 late-term abortions per day or 1.14 per hour.
