You don’t have to speculate on why Obama was the first President not to attend a sitting Justices funeral any longer.
His funeral was held at Washington D.C.’s Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, North America’s largest Roman Catholic church.
Absolutely beautiful. Justice Scalia was a man of Faith and conviction. The cathedral, no matter what you believe is full of iconic symbolism for Christianity. The mass for Justice Scalia not only celebrated his life but the life and death of Christ. When the priest held the chalice for communion reciting Christ’s words at the last supper, and ended with ” behold the lamb of God who taketh away the sins of the world” it became clear to me why Obama would not partake in this.
Remember before speaking anywhere with a cross he covers it. He is very clever in his words about Christianity but he has yet to admit that Christ is the lamb of God that takes away sin. He has yet to publicly declare Jesus is God’s son and the only way to the Father.
So regardless of your denomination or belief Obama’s absence today spoke volumes about where his faith And convictions lie.
Justice Scalia left his light on America, and what was clear to me is that America needs to return to God.
