” When God Is Sought “

th5h9o1nmxz

When the Lord is sought it is then things can be turned around, and David knew of the ability of His God when A-bim’-e-lech drove him away so David looked to the Lord for his help. (Psalm 34:4-8). I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

What an immense compassion God has for man, when many times people will live away from Him yet when they are in any kind of trouble He is the first one they call upon. How many times do we deserve His anger and He holds out His arms to us in love instead. What a lesson the Israelites were given in the wilderness and would still not turn to God. (Psalm 78:34:-40). When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and enquired early after God. And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer. Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues. For their heart was not right with him, neither were they stedfast in his covenant. But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath. For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and cometh not again. How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert!

In the writings of Ecclesiastes written by Solomon he looks into many ways of man upon the earth as he lives out his days, only to realize much is vanity and held not much purpose. But in his conclusion he sought suitable words to explain that gaining Gods wisdom is mans strength and to fear God and keep His commandments is a labor of great reward! (Ecclesiastes 12:8-14). Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity. And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs. The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth. The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd. And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Jeremiah 29:11-13

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
