” Apple Of His Eye “

In a prayer of David we find him asking God to keep his footsteps from slipping and for protection from his enemies which surround him. He even asks God to keep him as “The apple of the eye”. (Psalm 17:4-9). Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer. Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not. I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech. Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings, From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

Spiritually speaking Zion are the people of God who have been told to deliver themselves from Babylon that is about to fall, and to be separated from taking part in other’s sins. For the day will come that those who touch you will be touching “The apple of His eye”! Mystery Babylon we read of in Revelation 17:5 is a great city that has reigned over the kings of the earth 17:18, but the fall of it 18:2 will not affect the people of God if they take heed to His word and come out of the worlds way so they are not overtaken. (Zechariah 2:6-8) Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the Lord: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the Lord. Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon. For thus saith the Lord of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye………. (Revelation 18:4) And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Jacob/Israel is the lot of Gods inheritance and as the Lord guided Moses in the desert, He kept him as “The apple of His eye”. It is written one day those who have gotten the victory over satan and his mark and number of his name will one day sing the song of Moses we read of in Deuteronomy 32. (Deuteronomy 32:8-12) When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel. For the Lord’s portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance. He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: So the Lord alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him………… (Revelation 15:2-4) And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.
