URGENT PRAYER REQUEST: Thailand Government Arresting Christian Asylum Seekers

VOP UrgentPrayerRequest

(Voice of the Persecuted) This morning, we were notified by our partners in Thailand that over 200 Christian asylum seekers have been caught by Thai authorities during a raid in Bangkok. Women, children, nursing mothers, the elderly and sick were among those arrested.

The Thai government does not have a working relationship with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. They do not recognize the Asylum Seeker certificates issued to these refugees by the UNHCR. They go to Thailand because it is easier to obtain a visa, or they cannot afford to go further. Many are unaware of the dreadful living conditions, or the lengthy process of receiving asylum status—not measured in months, but some as long as 6 years simply to get an interview.

During the wait, their visa’s expire and they become illegals who are constantly at risk of being arrested and put into the horrific conditions of the Thai detention centers. Unable to legally get a work permit, the little funds they bring is quickly depleted and they are forced to beg or starve. If they choose to find illegal work, they are at even greater risk of detention and possibly deportation. Persecuted Christians deported back to Pakistan are in danger of a prison sentences, or losing their lives at the hands of extremists.

Until the UNHCR grants them refugee status and resettles them in another country, they are living a nightmare. They describe it as leaving one hell for another.

We will keep you updated as reports come in. PLEASE PRAY and ask others to pray with you!

VOP NOTE TO PAKISTANI CHRISTIANSPLEASE DO NOT GO TO THAILAND WHEN SEEKING ASYLUM! You will not receive basic aid from the UNHCR and end up in an unbearable situation.

Together with your generous support, we can reach the goal to alleviate horrific suffering. In darkness and desperation, let us serve in love, with open arms and giving hands to provide light and hope.

Everyday, we thank God that He is working through you to care for His children and further His Kingdom! As you greatly bless others, may God continue to bless you. Thank you so much for your support. We couldn’t do it without you!

  1. These poor brethren! These must have sold all they had to be able to get as far as Thailand. What a shock to arrive in a place where they thought there would respite from the crushing existence in Pakistan, only to be treated as criminals.

Most likely, along the way some “clever” person relieved them of what money they may have been able to gather, to pay for transportation to a “safe” place. This happened during the Holocaust” also, when many fleeing Jewish families purchased tickets to NO WHERE.

These Pakistani Christians must not be part of the “brick-yard slave” families. I do not think they could get enough funds together for a ticket of any kind. I know of a local group of Christians who raised enough money to buy one family out of the ” brick yard slave ” camps. That was just one family. Hopefully others have been bought out of the slave camps by now.

I knew from a Pakistani brother in CHRIST who told ( and had video ) of a dear sister in one of these camps, who was bearing witness to CHRIST to all of the women there, and any who would listen. The camp owner told her to stop speaking of JESUS, slapping and beating her, The sister would not cease to speak of JESUS, so the vicious camp owner raped her. Three days later this VERY brave sister was holding a prayer and scripture meeting with all the women in the camp, and they were intently listening and asking questions about JESUS!

This HAS to be SUPERNATURAL STRENGTH. This is just one event that we happened to hear about. I am certain there are many more.

Pray for our precious Brothers and Sisters held prisoners in Pakistan. Let us ask our LORD+ how to help our Christian Family to escape from there according to HIS+ Will.

Rev. 22:20 'Surely I am coming quickly, Amen. Even so, come Lord Jesus!'
