The negative and positive of God is a do and don’t list to all who consider themselves to be Christian. God pulls no punches and makes it plain what he approves of for us as followers of him and what is NOT considered the narrow road he would have us follow that leads to life!
Follow things which make for peace, and which edify one another. (Romans 14:17-19). For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men. Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
How kind a man was Abraham that knew how God his Father wants unity among the brethren and not strife when he told Lot to choose wherever he wanted to live and he would them go the opposite way. (Genesis 13:8-11) And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren. Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left. And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other….(Psalm 133:1).
Make no friendship with an angry man, or you will learn his ways and bring a snare to your soul. (Proverbs 22:24,25). Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.
Before we became a Christian we may have been guilty of gossiping, but have since learned the damage of such a practice as all gossip does is make those who do evil as though they are doing right and vice versa. As the body of Christ we are considered to be the temple and house of God, and are told not to be a busybody in other men’s matters. (1 Peter 4:15-18) But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?…. (Proverbs 20:19).
As long as churches teach only the love theory to world will stay warm and fuzzy and not learn of a wrath that will be poured out, or that the wicked will be no more as there remains a strong delusion over all who will not accept the truth that can literally save their souls. (2 Thessalonians 2:8-12). and remain in the darkness which Christ the light of the world came to save them from!
