Very Good News: Christian Blasphemy Suspect Misreported as Slain in Pakistani Jail Is Alive and Well
They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” Revelation 6:10
John 16 “These things I have spoken to you so that you may be kept from stumbling. 2“They will make you outcasts from the synagogue, but an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering service to God. 3“These things they will do because they have not known the Father or Me.…
Pastor Bhatti has been in prison in Pakistan for over a year. One of the most ruthless prisons in Pakistan. “On 4 April 1979, the former President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, Zulfiqar Ali Bhuttowas hanged to death in this Jail. The buildings were soon demolished and the Jail land was converted into a public park. A new Jail was then constructed on Adyala Road nearly 13 kilometres away from the District Courts which was named Central Jail Rawalpindi.” It is thought that they just wanted to get rid of the death remnants of the Prime Minister. His daughter also held this office and was assassinated. It’s been said that neither Bhutto or his daughter was for the blaspheme law, and that is why they were killed. Why is our government silent on these atrocities carried out against Christians and other minorities in Pakistan. Pakistan is one of the biggest receivers of US foreign aid and yet our government refuses to acknowledge these barbaric human rights abuses. Now they have allowed the cold blooded execution of a Christian in their prison system. Imprisoned for nothing more than his faith in Jesus Christ.
Pastor Bhatti has received multiple death threats, and now they have taken his life. He was jailed in 2012 for text messages they say were blasphemous. He was an activist for persecuted Christians and those prosecuted for this barbaric law of blaspheme.
(NBC News) ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — A Pakistani police officer shot two men in jail on Thursday, killing one accused of blasphemy and wounding another condemned to death on the same charge, lawyers and an activist said. Christian pastor Zafar Bhatti was killed and 70-year-old Briton Muhammad Asghar, who has a history of mental illness, was wounded in the attack in Rawalpindi. (More)
Pray for Pakistan, pray for the Christian and other minorities there, pray for God to intervene, pray for comfort for their families. Pray for those fleeing Pakistan for God to lead them to those who will help and not hinder, pray for the safety of those hiding from persecution in Pakistan, pray for God to convict western leaders to speak out and demand the immediate cessation of these evil ideologies.
Tell the righteous it will be well with them,
for they will enjoy the fruit of their deeds.
11 Woe to the wicked!
Disaster is upon them!
They will be paid back
for what their hands have done.
12 Youths oppress my people,
women rule over them.
My people, your guides lead you astray;
they turn you from the path.
13 The Lord takes his place in court;
he rises to judge the people.
14 The Lord enters into judgment
against the elders and leaders of his people:
“It is you who have ruined my vineyard;
the plunder from the poor is in your houses.
15 What do you mean by crushing my people
and grinding the faces of the poor?”
declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty.
