Update: Meriam Ibrahim Charged With Fraud, Banned From Leaving

This story is surrounded by confusion, I will continue to search for updates on this. The Daily Mail is reporting an exclusive story that Meriam is being charged with fraud, and can not leave Sudan.  It’s bad enough that our state department is evidently inept at protecting it’s citizens abroad, now this.  Why wasn’t officials with her, why didn’t officials have a team to protect her, why wasn’t she met at the door of the prison and taken to a transport plane?  They knew that she had received death threats, they knew that her family wanted to kill her.  Now they have let her be detained long enough for this.  Pray for her and her family.  Pray for intervention from God.  Pray for protection.

(Daily Mail)  The Sudanese woman who was sentenced to death for being a Christian has been released from her latest detention but has been charged with new crimes, MailOnline can reveal.Meriam Ibrahim has been accused of falsifying travel documents as she tried to leave the African country hours after the death penalty was dropped against her.It is understood that the authorities told her she should have used the Muslim name she had when she was born, not the Christian name she uses after choosing to worship that faith. EXCLUSIVE: Sudanese mother freed from death sentence for marrying a Christian is now charged with fraud and BANNED from leaving the country as campaigners slam State Department for ‘shameful’ attempt to help her | Mail Online.

    • Well, it’s not really clear, she was arrested again as she was trying to leave the country. We don’t really know where she is.

      • Are you aware of what is going on in our public schools? If you have kids or young relatives, or even if you don’t, look at this! One more thing. When I went to public elementary school, some people risked the law to offer us Bibles. this was after 1963. Nobody treated it like a big deal. I went there last year to vote. There was a sign that basically said learning without thinking. You can’t learn that way. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Anyway, take a look at the link. How was your 4th of July? One nation under God.

      • Yes, Catherine it’s very sad. We are being forced to comply to a government that is doing away with all things about God, and even though many in this country don’t recognize it, Christians are being singled out and persecuted. Not in the way that our brothers and sisters in the rest of the world are, but it’s still persecution. Church’s are falling away from sound doctrine like dominoes. And yes, we are still one nation under God, even though most don’t think so anymore.

  1. Just as the people wanted a King over them instead of God back in Samuels day, God has once again turned away from man turning from him to do unjust acts! There is nothing Christian over the negligence shown to Miriam and our so called leaders have to give answer for their actions. They can say God Bless all they want….ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS!. God Bless All who love the will of God.
