Pay Attention To The Parallels-Temple Mount & Jerusalem Then & Now

While reflecting on Passover and Palm Sunday, the 2 most holiest days in Jewish and Christian history, I saw this story this morning.

Muslim rioters threw stones and Molotov cocktails at Israeli Police forces on the Temple Mount Sunday morning, prompting the Mount to be closed to visitors until further notice. Temple Mount Closed After Muslim Rioting – Defense/Security – News – Israel National News.

Arabs are rioting and protesting again, on the Temple Mount.  A site they claim is theirs and theirs alone.  Their history started there around 700 AD.  Our’s started thousands of years before that.  Yet they have said we nor the Jews have had any history there.

While Gaza continues to fire rockets at  Southern Israel, and arabs continue to attack police.  This continues also to keep Jews and Christians from praying at the site that has been a Holy Site to Jew’s and Christians for thousands of years.  Passover is approaching and instead of bringing peace like the world is pushing for, it brings hatred.  We as Christians are approaching the time when Jesus entered Jerusalem as King, we are approaching the time when God sent His Son to pay the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms and our lives, so that we could have eternal life with Him, and instead of reverence and thanks, we get this.   I don’t know what it will take for the world to open their eyes and see this for what it really is. And yet the world pushes Israel to give up it’s most Holy Site to a peoples that won’t tolerate another’s religious beliefs.    To a peoples that choose violence over peace.  A peoples that spreads hatred and vitriol instead of peace and Love from God to His people.

You know, this made me think, when Jesus came to earth, and all through his life and death, there was another police presence at the Temple Mount.  There were police then and there are police today.

The times in which we live today are no different than when Jesus walked the earth.  Many of the Jews thought Jesus would destroy the Roman army and save the world.  But that was not His first mission.  His first mission was to fulfill the prophecies about Him, and bring Salvation to the world.  His first mission was as a sacrifice for our sins.  But I find it utterly amazing that almost the exact circumstances that Jesus saw in Jerusalem are happening today.  The police (Roman Soldiers) were there then, and the police are there now.  There was a governing body that demanded everyone who lived, and came to Jerusalem to the Temple paid a tax to Caeser and pledged allegiance to him.  That was a factor in the death of Christ.  The officials at the time tried to paint Jesus as a rebel who refused to pay tax, Jesus even told them  “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” And they marveled at him.Well, now is no different.  If we want to live under the rule of the law that wants to govern Jerusalem now we will pay a tax (Jizzya) or convert(bow) to Allah or die.  I mean think about it.  The PA along with the Arabs want to take over Jerusalem, declare it to be a muslim governing body, and the Jews and Christians will not worship there.  The world wants to make it a universal land, where they govern it.  Same circumstances.  Jesus spoke of the abomination of desolation that Daniel warned of, and we are seeing it today.  Many say this abomination is the ‘Antichrist’, many say this was fulfilled with Rome.  They are both right and wrong.  Take a hard look at what this is standing in the Holy Place (Temple Mount) today, and tell me it isn’t antichrist, and the abomination that cause desolation.  So when these armies begin to amass like they have recently, Jesus say’s there will be great distress, as has never been seen, nor will be ever again.  This couldn’t have been only speaking of the destruction of the temple in 70AD, because we have witnessed much larger distress, look at WW2 for starters.  This takeover of Jerusalem that they have been threatening, will start a chain of prophecies that will culminate in the coming of our Messiah.  His second coming.  So, if you think that we are not in the times of the end, think again.

I would like to say one thing to Islam, you say you want to die for Allah, you say if you die in battle you will go straight to paradise.  Do you not realize that this is why God sent His son to die?  So that you wouldn’t have to?  Do you not know how much God loved the world to send His Son to die for you and me?  (John 3:16)  You say, ‘Allah has no son.’  You are right, Allah has no son, but God does.  And he loved you so much that He sent this son to die so you could live, and yet you refuse to acknowledge this gift of love and sacrifice.  Why??

Our Savior is returning soon just as He promised over 2,000 years ago.  The season is here, the time is right.  Will you be ready or will you be asleep?
