My Comment: My heart and prayers go out to the people of China. This is a bold and daring move by our brothers and sisters there. They have taken a stand. One woman is described as saying ‘Don’t take down the cross, I’ll give you my bread.’ And another said ‘even if they take my head, I won’t leave.’ The article points out they are only allowed to worship on Sunday, and they can’t say anything politically motivated. The government say’s the church is illegal, and unsound and they are just trying to protect them. Really? A number of Christians have been forced underground in China to worship in their homes. China’s communist party is atheistic, and still clings to Mao’s belief that religion is poison, they do say it’s better since his day’s, and there are growing numbers of Christians. Michelle Obama said on her trip there that it was the universal right of everyone on the planet to express themselves freely and worship how they want, but look at our freedom to express ourselves freely and how it is being taken away. Pray for our brothers and sisters in China, pray for the persecuted church there. And watch what is creeping into America.
(Excerpt from the Telegraph) By day, Christians from around the province crowd the church’s steps, with undercover security agents mingling among them, snapping photos and eavesdropping. By night, hundreds of worshippers take it in turns to keep watch, grabbing a few hours of sleep on cramped wooden pews between shifts. He Hongying, an 81-year-old member of the resistance, said she would stay for as long as necessary. “I slept here last night and I will do the same again tonight. We pulled two pews together so it was quite all right. We feel at peace and fearless when we are with our God.”
