Let’s Talk Controversy: What’s Up With Noah?

noahmodern

I have listened to and read reviews of the new film ‘Noah’, and have come to the conclusion that I will not see this movie.  It’s a choice for each individual, it’s not a movie for children, it’s not a movie for those who are curious about God.  It’s not a film for those who wish to see what it was like the day God decided to destroy the world.  It’s fiction, not reality, not truth, not even close.  It’s fiction.

I watched the movie trailer, and of course the trailer shows just enough to make you think, maybe I should watch this.  And watching the trailer you get a glimpse of truth in that the Bible describes the flood waters like this: In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened. And rain fell upon the earth forty days and forty nights.  That’s about the only biblical reference that was a glimpse of truth as you can see from this screenshot of the official trailer.

noahAccording to reviews from Hollywood, Methuzella, and Tubal Cain were present.  They call God, ‘The Creator’. One reveiwer said that the Nephillim actually helped Noah build the ark, and that the Nephillim (fallen Angels) were condemned to death for their loyalty to mankind.  Really?  Their loyalty to mankind?  In the Bible and extra-biblical writings like the book of Enoch, bound by God until the Judgement day.  According to the Book of Genesis, the fallen angels saw that the daughters of men were beautiful and came to earth, mated with them creating hybrids.  These hybrids have been described as giants, men of renown, mighty men etc.  Also see 2 Peter 2:4 and Jude 6.

  • For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment;
  • And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day;

So in Scriptures we don’t get a picture of ‘Nephilim’ or fallen angels being loyal to man.  They had their own agenda.  Remember they fell from Heaven because satan went to war against God, defeated by Michael and he took 1/3 of the angels with him.  Satan has never been loyal to man! From the Garden, he set out to destroy man.  We really don’t know the complete details about the wickedness of man that caused God to destroy all, but the righteous Noah.  Jesus spoke of the flood in Noah’s day and compared this to His coming. (Matthew 24:37-39)

  •  But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
  •  For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
  • And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Jesus also tells us that tribulation like never seen before will be present.  At times it seems as if the world is sliding into this same wickedness.  This time Jesus will return.

Back to Noah the movie.  It is causing a divide even among Christians.  I listened to a pastor yesterday criticizing those Christians who take offense to the un-biblical movie.  He said that we shouldn’t care that it doesn’t follow the Bible, because it will get people talking about it and that’s good.  Well this morning I watched what people were talking about.  The Young Turks did a scathing video replete with explitives calling the Christians who dare to speak out as idiots. They also mentioned sarcastically, that Christians ought to be happy and celebrating, because our God is hateful and destroyed so many.  And it gave us the right to re-populate the earth, only they used explitives in describing the re-population.  So if those liberal Christians wish to engage others about God, this is not the way to do it.  It only causes division, and we are warned to steer clear of by the Apostle Paul.

So I suppose it’s up to you, but I would not recommend this movie to anyone.  I fear this movie was designed to do just what it has done, cause confusion, division and strife.  It gives non-believers, new agers and athiests fuel for their fire about a hateful God and points to those who believe in Him as crazy.  I’ve heard over and over, that the Bible is only stories, that should not be believed, and things like this movie add to this way of thinking.  The division of Christians over this, causes us to become laughing stocks of the secular world.  The director of the film even said that it was the least Biblical movie ever made.

Are church’s failing in their teachings and studies of the scripture?  Are they failing their flock in not teaching the scriptures and history of Noah, Sodom and Gommorah, and the history in the Bible?  Yes, they refuse to teach anything about these historical events, they refuse to teach the fear of God, replacing it with their version of blessing and love only gospel.  They refuse to teach prophesy because it might scare people, and they wouldn’t have as many in church.  Well if the youth does not get the answers from the clergy, they will seek it in the secular world and in movies like this. It will become their knowledge base, not the Bible.  Are we seeing what Jesus warned about the “day’s of Noah?”  I believe so.  The wickedness, the turning away from the solid word of God, the debauchery and the complete falling away of many of churches, today.

All the signs are pointing to these modern times as the last days.  Are you ready?  Are you ready to defend the word of God?  Are you ready to stand up for God’s word and the Son of God?  Are you ready to be mocked, ridiculed and persecuted for your belief in the Word of God?  It’s time to ask yourself these questions.

  1. This comment is from Julia. Thank you Sister!

    These are the days so many fairy tale shows are coming on the scene and it’s causing people to search even more for their Saviour! It is so VITAL for us to open the scriptures for ourselves to make sure what we are seeing and hearing are in line with the word. “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of an’-ti-christ, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world”.(1 John 4:1-3). As reading this article there is vivid proof of a false prophet present in the Pastor who said a Christian should not take offence if it’s not biblical.THIS IS A FALSE TEACHER of the Holy word of God to say not to believe scripture!!!! Never have we had so much emphasis on marriage as we do today and it is NOT of men and women as God ordained, But men with men and women with women which is an abomination in the eyes of God! (Romans 1:26-32). We either following the bible as truth or the worlds fairytale lies and wonder why we did’nt end up in heaven. God Bless all who Love the righteous ways of God Almighty for his way will stand for all eternity. GREAT ARTICLE………………….

  3. The movie is obviously a farce designed to make money and discredit the Scriptures. The saddest part is how the so called “church”
    is once again showing the world that they really do not believe the Scriptures either, and proceed to make themselves as much of a joke as the silly movie is. It is obvious that the organized “church”, or “religious system” has the word ICHABOD written opon it. They seem not to stand for anything except materialism and hedonism. All doctrine is tolerated except one … SOUND doctrine!

    This silly movie based on nothing is not the sad part. The sad part is the response by a large part of the so-called “church.” Yes! as the producer said,”this is the least Bibical movie ever made”. ( maybe?) There is another new movie supposedly about the'”SON of GOD”.

    Those who really know HIM+ and know HIS+ Voice, know that this movie is not Bibilical either.

    For all who love HIM+ : Draw near to HIM+, and HE+ will draw near to you. An old saying comes to mind, :First time WATER – second time FIRE! Here is the reality. Perilous times are here. Peace to all who love our LORD+ in Truth.
