As I posted all the news about Iran and the deal and the turmoil in the middle east and what it means for Israel and the world, I grew anxious. I sat down, with my Bible in my hand, and prayed, a very simple prayer, where I asked God to show me something. That’s all I said. I let my Bible open and it opened to the passage in Samuel about David. I read through the story where it opened, where David had been anointed by By Samuel for God, and was pursued by King Saul. Saul knew and he set out to kill David. God turned Saul and his men over to David. David approached Saul at night, refusing to kill him, he took his sword and his water and then went to a nearby hill to call to Saul and his men. To let them know that God had delivered them over to David. I started reading in chapter 26 of 1Samuel. I recommend you read the entire chapter. I continued reading through David’s conquest of the Amalekites who raided his home and took the women and children, to the end (the death) of Saul at the hands of the Philistines.
This chapter is so full of Faith, Faith in God for deliverance, it’s amazing. God has always guided Israel, he has always guided those who trust and have Faith and abide in Him. God raised David as His Anointed one. It is from this bloodline that His Son came into the world. Saul lost his way, He lost his faith. He disobeyed God’s command to kill all of the Amalekites. When Saul was trying to save his neck he was making excuses to Samuel by saying he saved the sheep to make a sacrifice to the Lord. This is what Samuel replied, there is lessons in this for us. 1Samuel 15:22-23
“And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.”
So we have again rebellion. Eve rebelled against God, and caused their exile from the Garden. All throughout Biblical history we have rebellion and sin. And yet the church, Christians, and even the world leaders refuse to see that rebellion to God’s word is certain death. Oh ‘God wouldn’t do that they say.’ But yes he did, and he will. But that’s another post. I also took great comfort in this chapter, and history of King David. God has always had Israel’s back and He will today. God’s judgments have been swift on Israel’s enemies and those who curse His people. The Amalekites destruction came for how they treated Israel during their trials with the Exodus. So yes, God’s Blessing is still there. Over and over we hear, God’s words ‘
“ For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.” (Obadiah 1:15) “
Summon archers against Babylon, all those who draw the bow. Encamp all around her; let no one escape. Repay her for her deeds; do to her as she has done. For she has defied the LORD, the Holy One of Israel.” (Jeremiah 50:21)
“therefore as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I will treat you in accordance with the anger and jealousy you showed in your hatred of them and I will make myself known among them when I judge you.” (Ezekiel 35:11)
“Because you rejoiced when the inheritance of Israel became desolate, that is how I will treat you. You will be desolate, Mount Seir, you and all of Edom. Then they will know that I am the LORD.” Ezekiel 35:15
“For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land. (Joel 3: 1-2)
I could go on and on, are you beginning to see? Are you beginning to see the mystery of God through His prophets. The Day of the Lord is fast approaching. His judgments are swift, but true. Are you ready? This time the Messiah, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah will return to set things right, and to judge the Nations. Revelation 5:5 “And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.” He will separate the sheep from the goats. If you are in rebellion, if your Faith is weak, now is the time to prepare. Now is the time to turn from the world and run to repentance and obedience to God’s word, not man or the world. These are the messages I am getting from God, the same messages that the other watchmen are getting. I get the message that soon these watchmen will be told to step down. This period of the Harvest is about to close. We are barreling toward the Day of the Lord. Please get ready.
