If one is a Christian they most assuredly believe in Angels! They are mentioned over 200 times in the bible.Angels are often used by God to make intervention on behalf of his children.
Jesus had Angels minister to him after being tempted in the wilderness……
“Then saith Jesus unto him,get thee hence,satan:for it is written,thou shalt worship the Lord thy God,and him only shalt thou serve.Then the devil leaveth him,and,behold,Angels came and ministered unto him”.(Matthew 4:10,11).
It was an Angel that was sent on Daniels behalf to shut the mouths of the lions.
“My God hath sent his Angel,and hath shut the lions’ mouths,that they have not hurt me:forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me;and also before thee,O King,have I done no hurt.Then was the King exceeding glad for him,and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den.So Daniel was taken up out of the den,and no manner of hurt was found upon him,because he believed in his God”.(Daniel 6:22,23).
My favorite bible story of an Angel is when Balaam’s donkey saw the Angel of the Lord and then God opened the mouth of the donkey to speak!
“And when the ass saw the Angel of the Lord,she fell down under Balaam:and Balaam’s anger was kindled,and he smote the ass with a staff.And the Lord opened the mouth of the ass,and she said unto Balaam,what have I done unto thee,that thou hast smitten me these three times?
And Balaam said unto the ass,because thou hast mocked me:I would there were a sword in mine hand,for now would I kill thee.And the ass said unto Balaam,Am not I thine ass,upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was wont to do so unto thee? And he said,nay.Then the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam,and he saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way,and his sword drawn in his hand:and he bowed down his head,and fell flat on his face.And the Angel of the Lord said unto him,wherefore hast thou smitten thine ass these three times? Behold,I went out to withstand thee,because thy way is perverse before me.
And the ass saw me,and turned from me these three times:unless she had turned from me,surely now also I had slain thee,and saved her alive”.(Numbers 22:27-33).
Then there are Angels who bring healing as in the pool of Bethesda.(John 5:1-14)
Perhaps even you have had an encounter with an Angel?
“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers:for thereby some have entertained Angels unawares”.(Hebrews 13:2).

Great post Julia. I have encountered angels. The one time that sticks out in my mind is when we were moving a very large restaurant size refrigerator the kind with double doors and about 8 feet tall. I was holding it steady as it went up on the lift on the truck and my husband was operating the lift, at the front of the truck. All of a sudden the lift failed then jumped about 2 feet and the cooler started to fall, it happened very fast, but I saw everything in slow motion. It was falling on top of me. The next thing I knew, I felt arms around my waist and was lifted and pulled to the side just as the cooler fell to the ground, shattering all the glass. I looked up, my husband was at the controls with a white face, and I said how did you lift me, thank you! And he said, I didn’t touch you, I couldn’t get to you, he had tears in his eyes. I will never forget the feel of those strong arms around my waist, and the feeling of peace that came with. My husband say’s he didn’t see anything he was trying to get to me, but he say’s he will never forget that, he thought I would be dead. We thanked God, and now we know there are angels who have charge of us, just like the Bible say’s!

Great article Julia! I believe I’ve met an angel twice. It was the same person, once in a dream, second time in reality, but years apart. I also believe he may be my guardian angel.
First time I had a dream about him was when I was a teenager and I didn’t know God. I had a terrible situation in my home, I was sad and upset, scared, cold and shivering like it was the middle of the winter. I fell asleep and I dreamed about beautiful meadow in the soft rolling hills. The grass was tall and it was waving in the wind. A sense of peace came over me, Then I saw a young man standing in the grass. He was very tall, with blond, goldish wavy hair, dressed in a tunic and pants made from burlap or similar fabric. He was holding a bunny on his left arm, and stroking bunny’s back with his right hand. He looked at me just for a second, and went back to petting the bunny. In that short look a silent message came across that “everything will be alright”. I still vividly remember that dream and the feeling of perfect peace. I am working on a painting of that dream.
Second time, there was a real encounter with him. That was exactly 10 years ago. I had a hip surgery and I was recovering from it. I was in a lot of pain and was unable to climb the stairs to sleep in my bedroom, but tried to sleep in a recliner in our living room. After a whole week of not sleeping I slowly climbed upstairs and sat up in my bed with pillows propped behind my back. I was in so much pain, I was crying as I was trying to sleep. I felt a presence by my bed, just standing next to me. I felt a soft kiss on my forehead with a message that kiss was sent from my mom (who passed 4 years prior to that) and that was him who I saw in my dream years ago. The whole encounter was just about a second or two long.That was the first night after the surgery that I actually fell asleep and had a restful night even though I didn’t take pain pills.

Artbella……………How wonderful is that when you can paint a dream you had!,I must say what you explained is definitely an Angel encounter,they always bring a peace unspeakable,and your surroundings are absolutely Beautiful…. it is the peace that passes all understanding.What a Blessing it is to know others have had similar happenings.The dream I had twice now takes place in this vast brightly lit Golden wheat field and it looks like back in the olden days is the best way to describe it..there’s a long trail down the center of the field and older buildings to the right and left of me..The Love that is felt while I’m there is unexplainable……..and there’s not a word in the human language to describe the vastness and beauty and Love felt there….it has to be Heaven!!!!!!love To You My Friend.

Julia, I know the feeling, it’s not explainable with our human language. It’s peace that comes over your whole body as a wave of calmness and goodness and you are enveloped in blankets of love and you know how everything is right and good. I had that same feeling when I dreamed about Jesus coming on the cloud.

Julia,wonderful article! When i wasn’t christian and even when i was a young christian,i would mistaken demons for angels.Some of the demons are beautiful,shiny,gentle and very kind BUT the angel of God should NEVER make ask for sexual or love relationship from human!That why it’s important to read Bible often or every day!I’ve also met angels from God,they are very friendly,compassionate and they don’t touch humans in an inappropriate way! I got a pat on my shoulder from an angel of God,nothing more! We should use discerment! God bless you Julia!

Ann…………..What a Blessing your comment is here today! All of God’s Angels are for the good of his children and your right on if there’s anything even remotely inappropriate happening………I forgot to put the passage in that satan himself is transformed into an angel of light,but the next passage says whose end shall be according to their works(2 Corinthians 11:14,15)………….That’s where you’ll know them by their fruits.Like you said Ann it’s important to read the bible every day,then satan can’t deceive you.
