We’re already 5 months into 2013. It’s going fast. This is Memorial Day, a day we set aside to remember our fallen soldiers, and loved ones who have gone on. As I reflect, first of all I want to give credit where credit is due. Our military takes a lot of criticism, and it seems this president is set on destroying the integrity and morals that have served us so well in years gone by. But I will not forget those who have sacrificed, nor their families who have sacrificed with them. And their wounds go so much deeper than physical wounds. They carry the images of war with them forever, some are never able to find peace again. They gave their all so we could enjoy our freedoms, a big one being freedom of speech, and freedom of religion. Both of these are coming under attack like never before. We have a president who throws that out the window, not giving a single thought to what they endure. The debate about why is for another post.
Thank you to all who have served and continue to serve in the Military of our Country. I don’t imagine it’s easy with a commander in chief that throws tradition and traditional values out the window. A commander in chief who doesn’t know what the saying ‘Leave No One Behind’ means.
My heart and prayers are with each and every one of the families and servicemen and women. Let’s remember them in our prayers, that they will be safe, and God grant them a peace that only He can provide. God Bless You, and Keep you! And remember Psalm 91: ‘He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust…..’
So let’s stop for a moment and quit trying to justify, and just remember and pray for our brave men and women and their families.
