God Is With Us

I have sat in shock most of the day.  I have watched with the rest of America and the world, the horrible events in Boston unfold.  While we wait to hear who, why, and how, I’m reminded it doesn’t really matter.  An act of terror occurred today, I’m sure meant to strike fear in our hearts.  Instead it struck grief and sadness, and anger.  We said never again, and here it is at our doorstep.  Americans are tough, resilient people.  We’re survivors.  It hasn’t been that long since we grieved together over lost children.  While we don’t understand, any of it, we have to remember, that God does.  He know’s the why’s and the how’s and who’s.  People have free will and if they choose to do evil it doesn’t mean that God is absent.  In these dark times, here and in the world, we have to trust God.  He’s there, He know’s the sorrow and pain we’re feeling.  He see’s every tear, he keeps track of every sorrow.  He will send His Holy Spirit and His Angels to comfort, rest in His mighty Hands.  He alone gives the peace that goes beyond understanding.  I’m praying tonight for the families of the victims, and the victims.  I’m praying for our Country.  Just remember, that God has not abandoned the weak, the suffering, the injured.  He is with us.

Jesus said: ‘I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.’  He also said: ‘Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you, I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.’  ‘I will never leave you, even until the end of time.’  He’s here, with us.  I believe it.  God said it, I believe it, it’s done.  I hope you can find comfort in that knowledge.

Remember Psalm 23  and turn and run into the Saviors Arms.  “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”  May you find peace and comfort in our Lord.
