- The fear we will be attacked by Terrorists
- The fear that we will offend someone if we speak out against sexual immorality, false religion, or sin
- The fear that we will be called racist if we speak of the above
- The fear that we can not take care of our family without the government
- The fear that we can’t defend our family against attack without the government
We have become a nation that cowers in the face of adversity. What happened to us? It happened slowly over time, as we have forgotten our roots, and the morals, and the teachings of what’s important in our lives. Instead of continuing with Jesus’s message for us to be separate from the world, we’ve allowed the world to chip away at our defenses until we look more like the world than the Body Of Christ.
Jesus said in his prayer for the disciples in Mt. 17:16 ‘They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” In fact we were warned many times in the Bible not to look like, act like, smell like or follow the worldly ways. Our home is not this world, we’re just passing through. The very last warning about this is in Rev.18:4 ‘Then I heard another voice from heaven say: Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues; for her sins are piled up to heaven and God has remembered her crimes.” I think we all need to heed this warning. The King is coming, he’s given us many warnings, and many signs, and now it’s time to listen and come up out of the world and be a part of the Bride of Christ.
There is only one fear we have to be concerned with today. The Fear Of God! We can learn much from the Old Testament and from the Israelites. Deuteronomy 10:12 ‘And now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?” And Proverbs 8:13 To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.’
Now, look again at the fear’s that have brought America to it’s knees. Now if we really had the fear of the Lord in us, we would know how to live our lives without these fears. Jesus teaches us in Luke 12:4 ‘I tell you my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear. Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.‘ Then in 1John he tells us how to live without fear! Yes he tells us how to live without these fears. 1John 4:16-18 ‘And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in Him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. This does not say that we are not to fear God, but it does show that if we are truly in Christ’s love, and we truly trust Him, than we should fear nothing! If we fear government, attacks on us, or any of the other fears listed, than we are not in the love of Christ. We are in the love and fear of the world! Hence the warning, ‘Come out of her my people!’
Quit fearing anything but God, for it is only God that can punish, and decide your eternity, hell or heaven. Anything else is from the world, the King of this world is Satan. Why do we continuously want to look like the world? Come into the Love of Christ, and fear nothing but God! Come out of the world!

The title for this post says it all!
All of man’s fears reflect absence of faith, except for the fear of God. For believers “God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2Tim 1:7) When we begin to fear we need to remind ourselves of this verse and put our faith and trust in God.
