Did you know that Jesus and Muhammad are brothers? That’s the claim made by Ibrahim Hooper of the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Washington.
Here’s what Hooper writes in a commentary: “Many of our Christian brothers and sisters may be surprised to know that Muslims love and revere Jesus as one of God’s greatest messengers to mankind, just as we love and revere the prophet Muhammad, may peace be upon them both.”
To the unsaved and to ignorant Christians, this may sound reasonable until one examines scripture. There is only one mediator between God and man, the Lord Jesus Christ. And it is the blood of Christ, not Muhammad or anyone else, that cleanses from all sin.
Islam is a copycat religion, taking from the Old and New Testaments, denying some of it, while adding to it. And if you read the last chapter of Revelation, you see God’s judgment on people who add to or subtract from His word. There is only one Word of God and Muhammad isn’t it. We can love Muslims and tell them about the real Jesus, but we shouldn’t allow them to interpret our faith.
