Syrian Family Tells Nightmare Living underground four months


A terrified family are living underground in a pitch black cellar to escape the bombing in Syria’s biggest city.

The group took cover in the former workshop in Aleppo five doors down from their family home during an attack on the city four months ago.

Their battle-scarred house is on one of Aleppo’s front lines and has been hit repeatedly by artillery fire since the bitter conflict between rebels and forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad started raging.

As a result, the family have only emerged from their make-shift bunker once every two weeks to have a shower and have barely breathed fresh air or seen sunlight since.

‘We have a weak home it could crumble at any moment,’ the mother said.

One family member, aged 20, told CNN what happened the day they took refuge.
