An IDF soldier who was critically wounded in a rocket attack Tuesday evening in the Eshkol region has died. He has been identified as 18-year-old Yosef Fartouk of Emanuel.
Fartouk was posthumously promoted from private to corporal.
Seven other soldiers were wounded by rockets Tuesday. Two were lightly wounded in the same blast in which Fartouk was killed.
Another five were hurt in a separate attack. On Tuesday morning a reserves commander was wounded in a separate attack in the Eshkol area.
Civilians have been wounded in rocket attacks in the cities of Ashdod, Ashkelon and Rishon L’Tzion.
